Ok, well toy inspired. Clearly not based on the animation. ;)

Super 7 making the TMNT figures toy inspired was a really bad idea. Just look at Splinter and especially Shredder. They actually made him an alternate head that replicates the wrongly applied paint application of the original vintage Playmates figure....
Yet they gave Leonardo and Raphael the wrong weapons.

Matty wanted to appeal to the MOTU fans an cheap out on parts where possible. Super7 took over the line years later and were not beholden to what Matty had started other than the initial tooling for those first figures. We have seen more and more unique sculpts for the upcoming waves, I say they ditch the MOTU thing all together. If a brand as small as Silverhawks gets this treatment, Thundercats surely deserves it. Lets not forget that these figures all these ultimates cost the same and it sucks that the only ones I care about have this muddled aesthetic.
It is really in Super 7 decisions. It is just a fact that the Ultimates! line was born because of the existence of MOTU Classics. Ultimates! line is obviously developing more and more outside the confines of the Classics original idea. Everything is possible in the future.

I got off reading the new interview about mostly SilverHawks. I was the most interested in whether or not Super7 had access to the show's old logo like they did the one for ThunderCats.

I still don’t get why people dislike Splinter. He is my favourite from W1! Such a great upgrade. Shredder’s second head is such a fantastic homage to that factory error. I love it. Their toy-inspired line is really stunning.

Let’s hope that the person who has access to that logo contacts S7 about it. I know fans will be pleased if that were used.

Just like the vintage toy it was disappointing how much he didn't look like the cartoon.
Shredder's second head is a waste of plastic. A homage to an awful factory error. Who would honestly even want to display their Shredder figure with that head? An absolutely idiotic idea to make it. Why not an unmasked/unhelmeted head of Oroku Saki...a can of mutagen or fabric tunic.
Domr of the other toy figures like Bebop look very nice.

I think its clever to make fun of that mistake in a positive way. Just look - we’re still talking about it years later.

I think it's weird Brian explains the line's aesthetic choices as "everyone remembers and loves the figures, not really the cartoon... So we're doing the cartoon." I THINK i know what he's trying to say...
The whole vacu-metal/metallic paint issue seems a moot point - the color shift paint will be incredible if they can pull it off - especially if one of the "shifts" reveals their badges. Sadly, i don't think it'll work, but the pearlescent paint will look sharp as well. Really looking forward to this, gonna be hard to wait a year.
Hoping for second wave of mumbo jumbo, mo-lec-u-lar, steelwill, and copper kidd.
Hotwing and Flashback are big wants, too.

Anyone know what those long strips with the loops on the end are for that come with Buzz-Saw?

Boy he really doesn't hold back interviewing Brian. We have to admit Bryan is a very good sport because he puts himself out there even when he is just constantly being beat up. Not saying some points aren't valid, but I don't see any other company putting themselves out there like this. Can you imagine Hasbro doing something like this? LOOOOOOOOOOOL

In the show he would pull the cords on his chest to make his saws spin.

I always preferred the villains on Silverhawks (really wanted toys of Poker Face & Melodia as a kid). I only pre-ordered Mon-Star and Buzz Saw from BBTS. Maybe if the Hawks end up really wowing me, I'll think about trying to track them down at a later time.

Actually felt a bit for Bryan there, having to go over the same point repeatedly about the paint. I think he was pretty clear on his reasons for the paint and articulation. A lot of it boils down to it's what Bryan prefers, Shart should have just took that and moved on. I would have pulled him up on his comment about Silverhawks being show accurate to fit with the Thundercats though. Come on Brian, they aren't. The colours, the sculpts and the scale are all off to a certain extent on every figure.

They're titled SILVERhawks for the obvious reason. And if the hero figures don't look silvery, well...would you still like them?

Bryan must be pretty desperate doing damage control when he would waste time even bothering doing an interview with Shartimus Prime.
Again though Bryan and Super 7 should know to have the paint etc worked out before showing a picture and starting a pre-order.
I honestly don't get why Bryan bothers with all the "interviews" when he should just echo the comments many Super 7 fans have stated on any criticism of their products, "if you don't like them don't buy them."
