And the final cover art for the comic. This looks MUCH better.

I am happy to spot Orko and the kittens and Jaga and Snarf in here. And obviously BattleCat/Cringer. This comic has me all excited. But where is Pumyra, Bengali and Lynx-O??? :(

The new He-Man/ThunderCats comic seems mostly based on the first season of ThunderCats.

That would be fine with me!

It's got me excited! I am not 100% crazy about the art style! But I guess it will grow on me...

Marvel Entertainment must've missed an opportunity to crossover Masters of the Universe and ThunderCats in the '80s while they were licensed by it, because what Mattel and DC are doing with both franchises story-wise just might blow us away.

I am confused about how this story is going to work. This comic is based on the 80's He-Man and Thundercats. But time line wise the 80's He-Man cartoon was set alongside present day/not too distant future Earth but Thundercats was set thousands of years in Earth's future.

They'll probably resort to ye olde time-travel/space portal plot. As far as I remember, they did that with almost all the Wildstorm ThunderCats crossovers. And it only has been done in movies and comics like a gazillion times!!!! ;)

Hey, guys, check out this new sketch of Lion-O by Freddie Williams:

How original. :roflmao
I was just thinking. Technically the only things to say that the events in He-Man are from present/near future Earth are the two children in the Christmas special and the live action movie. The special isn't exactly in cannon in the timeline of the series as far as I know and same with the movie.
Marlena being from Earth was never really expanded on as far as I know other than that she was from Earth.
So I don't think it will make much of a difference.

Just think: if this does well, they can make more crossovers with other nostalgic 80's properties.
It can be "The Expendables" of other magic sword wielders: along with He-Man and Lion-O and their magic swords, we can have Blackstar and his Starsword, Thundarr and his Sunword, Galtar and his Golden Lance, She-Ra and her Sword of Protection...all rallied around King Arthur and Excalibur.
They can call them the Magnificent Seven Swordmen...

An Expendables-style '80s storyline would work wonders! :D

The Expendables...quite an ironic comparison.
The Expendables: a bunch of washed up 80's action movie stars doing something that should have been done a long time ago at the height of their fame.
The MOTU and Thundercats crossover: two failed 80's brands doing something that should have happened long ago when they were still popular.

I hope this crossover series people dreamed about succeed, because I want DC comics to
Continued the 2011 reboot series in a Manga style comic form. Because we are not get any conclusion ever since the cartoon has been cancelled.

jeez, always with doubts when it becomes to the reboot. You know not everyone is disagreeble on the 2011 series, everyone has their own opinion, and that's true. Some people have hopes, some have doubts;
big deal. Doesn't mean we can't all settle our differences.

I also think it's a stretch to think that any success with the original Thundercats will have an edffect with the reeboot. If it's successful hopefully it will leadto some solo comics of the original crew, I think that's the best we can hope for.
