I know it's way too early to be talking about this, but I'm stuck at home and bored! Beyond the Thundertank, who would you like to see for wave 5?
Who I'd like to see: Bengali, Hammerhand, Mandora, Alluro
Who I think we'll see: Bengali, Vulture Man, Hatchi Man & Mongor
#2
Bengali, Claudius, Ratilla, Vultureman are who I would like to see because two of those would be characters who were never in toy form.
Who I think we will see
Bengali
Thunder kittens ( Kit & Kat) two pack
Safari Joe
Mongor

I really hope you're right because your second list just happens to be exactly who I want to see. Saying that, I would also be pleased to see Claudus or Ratar-O.

If I was making guesses, I could actually see Mandora, Driller or Demolisher showing up.

Here's a question: If wave 2 and 3 show up at roughly the same time, does that mean waves 5 and 6 will be revealed at roughly the same time?

No, they will still be spaced out evenly. It’s just lucky they’re released closely. W6 will probably come out Q3 for preorder to bridge the gap between W2/3 and W4’s releases. Once W4 is out W7 should go up. That’s just my maths, it can be completely wrong.

Or unlucky depending on your wallet. Wave 2 is delayed due to the factory being used. 3 onward are using the new one and hopefully this means they can get a regular schedule working going forward.

Correct! Unlucky if you preordered with BBTS or EE. It may be a bit much for some!
True, the W2 factory caused a big delay on that one but W3 is still on track which is great. I’m secretly excited to get Jaga and Cheetara first!

Anyone remember this scene from Titanic?

I've been thinking about this because I was watching 'The Zaxx Factor' and 'Book Of Omens' last night. Would it really be that ridiculous to expect Super7 to do figures of Zaxx and Pyron just because they appear when the show is coming to it's end? I for one am not expecting these characters any time soon but part of me is hopeful because I really think they would look brilliant and would be interesting choices. These are two characters that I would really like to get figures of. They have really cool designs and you can tell that they are formidable villains. They would look great in action figure form and no doubt be highly detailed if done correctly. I think that if they had appeared earlier in the show, we'd be getting them quite soon because surely the more interesting character designs are the most fun to make and the most appealing to the consumer. Some of the MOTUC that I got were literally characters that I wasn't familiar with but I got them because they looked cool. I don't know as much about MOTU as I do Thundercats. I was born in 1988 so I'm more of a Thundercats guy. Despite that, I'm not even a guy who is likely to collect every character (though I'm sure a lot of fans will) because I'll admit, not every character was great or looked cool or even appealed to me but I really like Pyron and Zaxx. Also, it would be quite interesting to see if Super7 do larger characters like Spidera or Enflamer. No doubt they will be more expensive and I'm not definitely saying I'd be in for them but they would be interesting to see and might be more affordable for people than other vehicles would. I think a lot of fans would be in for them.

I agree—they would make beautiful figures. We got the Rosencrantz Medallion with Mumm-Ra, so we know that they’re at least paying attention to later episodes. Say what you will about the final season, but Dennis J. Woodyard’s secondary character designs remained top-notch until the end. I’d love to see figures of the Mirror Wraith, Two-Time, Frogman, Char, Jagara obviously, even Torr!

If you’ve never seen it, Dennis J. Woodyard’s blog is a trove of original sketches, storyboards and more from his time working on the show: https://dragonflyent.blogspot.com/search/label/Thundercats?m=0

Really nice artwork. I like a lot of the later episodes. I noticed Amortus there, I watched that episode recently too. He's another one who might be interesting as a larger figure and also The Mad Bubbler. The Mirror Wraith is another character that I really like the design for so I think I would get him if he was made. I like that bat creature that Shadowmaster turns into. If that came with a Shadowmaster figure then I would get him too. It would be more expensive because it would be like a 2-pack but I think fans would buy it.

I'm going to change up my guess to this for wave 5
Wizz-Ra with helmeted head, unhelmeted head and an extra helmeted Mummy Mumm-Ra Head. Soft Goods Cape.
Bengali
Vultureman
Rataro

That would be cool. I'd like that but I think I want Hachiman more. Definitely want Ratar-O and Vultureman but would be very happy if Mongor showed up. Pyron and Zaxx would be cool but I'm not expecting them yet.

Man Wizz-Ra would have me super excited.

My predictions are as follows:
1. Either Bengali or Kit/Kat. There is no way we go another wave without getting another main Thundercat.
2. Vultureman (or otherwise Ratar-O).
3. A figure never released before in toy form.
4. A previous LJN figure but never made in Ultimates (Hachi-man, ratar-o, etc)

My feeling too but I doubt K/K will make it now.

I have that feeling too. It doesn't concern me personally as I am unlikely to buy a second K/K but curiosity does make me wonder what Super7 will do about them. For good guys I hope to see Bengali and Hachiman, for bad guys, Ratar-O and Mongor. Though I do want a Vultureman too. These are actually my top 5 wanted characters at the moment as I feel there is a good chance of all 5 of them coming in the next 4 waves. I have a slight doubt about Mongor, not sure why but I hope I'm wrong. It depends on how soon they start on Bezerkers and Lunataks. If they start on them in the next wave then they will probably want to do all of those before we get numerous stand-alone characters and even if some of those crop up alongside villains from those teams , it could be people like Safari Joe, Shiner or Driller first and we still have 2 more mutant team members to come yet. I liked both the Lunataks and Bezerkers but they weren't favourites of mine personally. Having said that, I love 'Thundercats Ho!' which the Bezerkers were in and the Lunataks also appeared in some good episodes. I didn't grow up with the Lunataks. I saw their episodes much later once the DVDs came out. I'm from the UK so I didn't see beyond 'Thundercats Ho!' back in the day, which was actually made into a movie. Beyond that, I don't believe any more episodes were shown over here. I find that odd because Thundercats is quite popular in the UK, we got our own comic book series of Thundercats at one time, even the Thundercats DVDs sold well. We don't get every volume of an old kids' show on DVD unless each set sells really well and often they don't. We got every volume of Thundercats despite the fact that other shows from that time that were supposedly more popular didn't get past one or two sets. I also actually saw people in HMV picking up Thundercats DVDs so I had a feeling that many people over here that were born in the 80's were fans and wanted this particular show on DVD. I remember the day that volume one came out, I bought it from HMV but it felt like there was some excitement around it. They were playing an episode of it on their TV screens and put some of these DVDs right at the front of the store. On top of that, the DVD release of it was even mentioned on a talk show in the evening (Paul O'Grady). The funny thing is, a few years prior, I actually overheard someone in HMV saying to his friend that he hopes Thundercats gets released on DVD one day because he'd buy it straight away. Then I started to think about it because this was at a time when I hadn't watched it for a while and I knew for a fact that I hadn't seen every episode but it had been my favourite show at one time. From then on, I would keep checking the internet to see if it would happen because I really wanted it on DVD too. I also noticed a lot of Thundercats T-shirts appearing. When it got a region 1 DVD release, I wondered if we would get a UK version. We did eventually but the wait for it was a struggle. I had actually considered getting bootlegs but didn't in the end as I heard that the picture quality was often very bad on those and I didn't know if my DVD players would play region 1 discs. I now have DVD players that do but I didn't at the time. I know I've gone off on a tangent here but it's a forum of Thundercats fans and I get excited talking about it so I figured why not? I also heard that Thundercats came to UK TV screens later than it did in America, around the time of TMNT, 1987 I think. I have no idea why and I'm not old enough to know if that is definitely true. Though it would explain why I was able to get brand new Thundercats LJN figures when I was about 4 years old because I was actually born in 1988. Thundercats seemed to still be alive in the early 90's over here from what I remember but it got phased out pretty soon after. I must have got into it towards the back end of it but I saw the pilot as I had the VHS and a few others. I would watch those a lot and catch it on TV whenever it was on. The Exodus VHS may have actually been released in the UK a significant time before it came on TV but I couldn't be sure. It just depends if we got that VHS when America did. We didn't with the DVDs but we may have with that, not sure. It may have seen a lot of popularity over here because of it's later run as well as it being a great show. A lot of other shows from the 80's may have been past the peak of their popularity or not really around once Thundercats got into it's stride over here. There was definitely TMNT and Ghostbusters but quite a few of the others from earlier in the decade were seemingly gone because we were heading into the 90's at this point and of course once the 90's started to produce some of it's most popular kids' shows, Thundercats disappeared, the profiles of TMNT and Ghostbusters were starting to drop off and then Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers became huge. Marvel and DC had a huge resurgence due to shows like Batman: The Animated Series, which was amazing, as well as the very good X-Men and Spider-Man animated shows that came along. Of course, there was lots of other stuff as you will all know and I'm sure you'll all remember the shows I've mentioned but I'm giving examples of shows that were action-packed, about heroes/villains as well as being a selling point for action figures which therefore makes them comparable to shows like Thundercats, TMNT and Ghostbusters to some extent.

Thundercats started being shown in the UK in 1987 and was shown regularly until 1991. It was also sporadically shown over holiday periods, the last being Easter 1994.
Also the toys were very popular in the UK and we're still available in Woolworths until 1992.
