Chris here...

Just wondering if we're still OK for a ThunderCast recording session at around 7:00pm or a bit later this coming Tuesday (8th March)? :)

My cold is finally coming under control - how's yours Nick? Neil, do you think you'll be able to make the "panel" for this ThunderCast episode? :)

I think really the only topics that need covering are:

- The new toyline reveals (first look at them on our forums following stills from footage taken at London Toy Fair, followed by official reveals at New York Toy Fair), reactions to it, etc.

- The new cartoon images reveals + the new trailer

- The leaked test footage from the aborted CGI ThunderCats movie

- The relaunch of ThunderCats Lair

...Obviously off of this there are a lot of "sub-topics" (such as talking about the different versions of the new toyline, the "ThunderCats Classics" figures, etc.), but IMO these are the main things we need to cover - anything you guys can think of that I've missed? :)

Really looking forward to making this happen, guys - thanks so much!

Take care... :)

Unfortunately it's likely I can't make it :( I just remembered the mic on my headset packed up working when I was chatting to MannyF on Skype a few weeks ago :(

I do have a mic on my laptop, but I don't think it's good enough for a broadcast. I believe it was ok for having a chat (Manny would know better as he was at the other end! lol) but if the sound goes in and out, it might spoil the podcast. I don't really want to hinder the recording :(

Well guys I am on day 15 of this nasty cold which has taken a stronghold of my voice. Just when i think it is coming back I take two steps to the rear. With a limited voice as it stands Ill have to pass on this one.

Sorry to hear about that Neil, and come to think of it I do remember you mentioning it to me. The biggest problem with the podcast recording and using a computer's built-in mic isn't actually the sound quality of the mic itself, but in my experience more the fact that with the other voices on the recording coming out of your computer's speakers (as opposed to in the headset's earphones) it can create a weird echo effect. :(

:( So sorry to hear you're still poorly, MannyC - I've been suffering too but thankfully I seem to be over the worst of this particular cold and so based on my experiences of the last year and a bit I should now enjoy at least 4 weeks of uninterrupted good health! ;) Hope you feel better my friend! :)

So, unless any of the others on the team want to dive in, looks like it's just you & me, Nick - are you still good for a session this Tuesday, and if so, what time would be best for you? LMK, my friend! :)

Take care... :)

Howdy duderino's...

I've got next week off and so am available to do a podcast at some point. From around the 8th April, however, I'll be in Manchester. Let's do a podcast - lots to talk about. Chris, you up for it?

Hey Nick, I'd love to get a ThunderCast nailed down! :) In the next week I'm available on Saturday 2nd, Tuesday 5th, Thursday 7th, Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th - LMK if any of those work for you, my friend, and if so what time. Looking forward to it! :)

Neil, are you (or indeed are any of the rest of the team) available on any of those dates as well? It would be good to have a "panel" for the episode if possible - LMK! :)

Take care... :)

I still don't have a new headset, and to be honest its at the bottom of my things to buy list.....so I likely won't make this one. I might see if I can get my old headset working though :)

I can do any of the dates Chris suggested, but would depend on the times :)

Sorry Neil, forgot all about that! :( If you can get your headset working it would be awesome to have you with us! :)

Hey MannyF, it'd be awesome to have you on board, what sort of times work OK with you? If you can let us know, hopefully there might be a time that works for Nick too (as it stands I should be able to do any time on those dates listed above) - might be best if you can translate your available times into UK time though, as I'm pretty useless at figuring out different timezones! ;)

Looking forward to making this happen! :)

Any day except Monday and Wednesday during the afternoon, UK time (that would be morning for me). :)

Sorry for the delay.

Tuesday 5th or Thursday 7th is fine for me. After that, it'd have to be any date after the 13th.

I'd like to go for Thursday 7th if that's OK - my mum is having a minor operation on the Tuesday and whilst I would anticipate everything being fine, the Thursday is a "safer" date. Is this OK with everyone else? :)

Looking forward to making it happen, lots to talk about!

Sounds okay with me. Do we have a specific time? I'll convert it to my time.

That's great news, MannyF!

What time works for you Nick, and is Thursday 7th OK for you? LMK and I'll ink it into the diary - many thanks! :)

Take care... :)

Thursday 7th... no problem. Anytime after 7PM UK would be fine.

Chris, could you make a show-plan? I'll record the show from my end but I'm so disjointed here that I could really use one. Be much appreciated if you could.

All sounds good to me - I've added it into my iCal for 7:00pm, but if it needs to be later to tie-up with MannyF that would be fine, in fact 8:00pm would probably suit me slightly better. Anyways, LMK what works best! :)

Show plan, no problem whatsoever, I'll try and get that done tomorrow and post it up here! :)

Thanks so much, Nick!

8PM UK on Thursday. No problem. :)

That's great Nick, thanks! :)

I don't know if you could really call this a "show plan", but here are the things I think we should cover in this recording:

NEW SERIES NEWS:

Toyline:

- New toyline unveiled (revealed and leaked out of the London Toy Fair, the buzz this created such as "thundercats" trending on Twitter, then WB officially revealing the first image 24 hours later and officially unveiling everything to the public at New York Toy Fair)

- What different types of figures there will be in the toyline (including the Classics figures)

- When the toys are due to be released (August?)

Cartoon:

- Who's working on the new show

- The voice actors revealed so far (particularly Larry Kenney and Jim Meskimen who were both involved in the original series, and who Nick interviewed for this site!)

- What we know about the new show (plot points such as Thundera being on Third Earth, the "love triangle", Lion-O and Tygra are brothers, talk of "big story arc", etc., etc.)

- When the show is set to launch

ThunderCats Lair site news:

- Re-launch of site earlier this year

DISCUSSION:

- Opinions, what we like and dislike about the new character designs and new concepts (Thundera on Third Earth, etc.)

- What we as fans would like to see in the new show

- Opinions of the new toys (or at least the images we've seen of them)

- Wishes and predictions for the future (how big can the ThunderCats become this second time around, characters we'd like to see return, etc., etc.)
-----

...Again, not really a "show plan" but hopefully some good food for thought there! :)

MannyF, I think I will be looking to you as the expert on the new stuff, as I for one am finding it hard to keep up with everything, whereas with ThunderCatsNOW I guess you're a bit more on top of all the news? :) I am up-to-speed with a lot of it, but I reckon of the two of us, you're the man with the knowledge! :)

Looking forward to getting back into the "virtual studio" with you guys!

Take care... :)

UPDATE:

Just to let you guys know that Nick, MannyF and myself just completed a great podcast recording, I can't speak for myself but I think Nick and Manny were both in absolute top form and I think it has the potential to be the best episode of ThunderCast yet!

All I need to figure out once it's edited is how the hell we add it to the site, update the iTunes RSS feed, etc., but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it - I see an e-mail to Kyle from me in his future!! ;)

Take care... :)

I want to apologize about my sound...I could hear you guys turning down your volume when I started to talk lol. And also that I had to cut off the podcast because of work...we had so much more to talk about!

I'm gonna go out and buy a new mic this weekend.

Chris, I can do the podcasts pages...we just need to figure out the iTunes stuff.

Personally I didn't need to adjust the volume, at times it just sounded as though you were broadcasting from your bathroom, LOL! :D It's all cool though, you contributed so many excellent points and excellent information, can't wait to hear the end product!

That's awesome Manny, thanks so much! I'll shoot Kyle an e-mail in a day or two and enquire about the iTunes RSS feed, but at least in the meanwhile and if nothing else we can get the new episode live on the site! :)

Take care... :)
