I wouldn't say awful, just compromised by the MOTUC style they've gone with. Agreed on the head though, looks weird from the side. Shame about the claw too, wonder if the Bandai one will work as a replacement or be too big.

I will reserve comments on the look of the figure until i have him in hand. I do have a problem with the packaging though. I wish they did something like the club grayskull packaging. There were samples they showed that was way better.

The first MOTUC He-Man head had the same problem looking very odd from the side.

It basically turned out the way I thought it would. I am a bit disappointed they didnt bother with a proper sculpted armor. They just painted the buck... The bio is terrible. Just, wow, so bad! :roflmao

Doesn't look too good. Too much articulation and almost all of it overly conspicuous. I've seen figures with the same number of articulation but they usually do a very good job of "blending" the joints into the figure. The arms look out of shape, swollen at the triceps and tapering down unnaturally.

And the bio? WOW! Hard to believe that this is official stuff. And these are people who claim to be "huge fans" of Thundercats. Bootleggers could have written a better bio!
#26
Wow! The figure looks beautiful! :thumbsup
I'm not fussed about the packaging but that'll go straight in the bin anyways. I picked the single ship subscription so it'll be months and months till he arrives

pretty shocked how bad the bio is but the packaging in my eyes is a lot worse as a moc collector i was hoping for better . a poor effort yet again .

Ok, I am usually not one to start arguements over stuff like this, but on this occasion, I feel the need to point out some things.

1. Who of you are actually buying this thing for the BIO written on the back of the packaging? That is the most irrelevant thing above the entire figure! Hell, the writing of the bios on the Transformers Masterpiece figures is in JAPANESE for crying out load, but I assure you that none of those fans care. Its just a part of the packaging, afterall. The toy itself is what's important.

2. The packaging design itself. As long as you can see the figure through a clear window and the packaging for the rest of the figures is pretty uniform, that is all that should matter.

3. My only gripe with the figure itself is how you're able to see all the lines in the joints. If they could have just found a way to conceal those, this figure would be just fine for me.

But possibly my biggest gripe of all:

4. You people are WAY too picky. Ever since Bandai and Mezco started releasing classic Thundercats style figures, there has been complaints over just about every product that has been released. Now I am not saying to just be accepting of everything a company does, but you need to realise that these products are manufactured in Chinese factories by people with possibly little to no knowledge of the franchise. People who are just building toys the best they can do while following the designer's instructions. We should all actually be grateful that anything gets created at all. Let's be real here. Thundercats doesn't have the largest fan base out there. So if a company decides to take a gamble by investing in making toys for a niche market such as this, then we should be happy and grateful, instead of only nitpicking about every little thing.

In short, you're getting Thundercats toys in 2016! Be happy!

I agree with Alluro Fan....you guys are too picky....you whine too much about every detail...it is what it is...TC on MOTU buck....IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, DONT BUY IT...I think it looks great.....cant wait to get it....

1. I don't think anyone really cares about the bio, I know I don't. I think it's fair play to mention how crap it is though. If they're going to bother at least make it accurate, and read like it was written by a native English speaking adult.

2. Since they posted design sketches for boxes that look much nicer and they have recently shown how well they can do packaging with the SDCC twins box, it's not too nitpicky to point out this isn't as nice if that's what people think.

3. So you agree with those who also don't care for the exposed articulation. Cool.

4. You really lose me on this point. Companies aren't making figures based on any property out of the goodness of their hearts. Its about profit. We needn't feel any more grateful for a figure being made the they do for the cash paid for it.
As you say, the factory goes with the info they got from the designer, so if there is something people feel is off or worth mentioning they will, they know who's responsible for it. (Wily Kats sleeve being the incorrect colour for example, down to the 4HM/ Matty)

Thundercats, obscure franchise as it may be or not, shouldn't be any more free from scrutiny than any other product. If they want our money then of course their product is going to be gone over in detail. People on here are naturally going to be passionate about this franchise. I for one like hearing what people think, good or bad.

Well, that's a bit more in doubt LOL. If Super 7 does get the license next year, I really don't know what to expect from them since all I have seen is their 3 3/4" stuff.

Sadly a lot of Mattel and MOTU fans have felt that any criticism of the MOTUC line at all was unfair as it could lead tot he line getting cancelled and certain figures not getting made so everyone should just buy and support the line and be happy any MOTU figures were getting made at all.

Beautifully said Booshman, especially point number 4.

Why are people so dense as to think that Mattel are making these figures as an act of philanthropy???? It's all about money, it always is, it always will be. You guys can worship and praise Mattel all you want but that will not make them produce more figures. Their decision is based purely on sales. If the toys sell, they will make more, if not, they won't. Take a look at the "Transformers" movies. They have been heavily criticized by both fans and critics and yet they keep on churning them out. Do you know why?? I'll give you a hint, it starts with "M" and ends with "ONEY".

Everyone has the right to express their opinion. No one is stopping fans of this line from eulogizing Mattel so fans shouldn't stop other people from expressing their criticism, even if it is nitpicking.

I think he looks great! The only nitpick I have is the odd way that the ab crunch looks, but other than that, I'm pretty happy!

Oh, I know that toy companies don't do anything out of philanthropy. At the same time, Mark had a point about how the MOTU fans worked so hard to keep the Classics line going, and look where it got them. 8 years of mostly great product. I know that this line will most likely not continue after this year, and for all we know, we may NEVER get Thundercats toys in any capacity ever again. So to that end, I am going to enjoy whatever we get and look past whatever minor flaws these figures may have.

I was not complimenting MOTU fans or the MOTUC line. I just always found the way Mattel blackmailed the fans into supporting the line really pathetic.

I know people who don't even like the movies or toys yet still buy them to complete their collections. :confused

I agree! I think folks need to be grateful that some companies are still making ThunderCats vs a lot of other brands that get left in the basement like a red headed step child! I for one would love to get my hands on a new SilverHawk action figure but that will probably never happen!

I am also going to reserve my full comment on this figure until I have it in hand. What I will say is that I am very dissapponted with the packaging. The fact that the logo and the characters name is not on the front is very stupid. The plain red background is also not appealing, it makes it look very bland. I just hope it looks better in hand!!
