I haven't received any word from Mr.Potts yet guys...

Yeah, I just can't believe how long it takes to hear back... :-( I'm really liking Hard Hero's work and can't wait to display Tygra next to my other Thundercats. Slithe was always one of my favorite designs and can't wait to see how he looks.

I emailed Mr. Potts earlier today. Asking him about Tygra and this was his response:

Hi ------,
The Tygra is scheduled for April 4th to be at the Long Beach docks. Finally! huh?
Thanks for asking.

No word yet guys from Mr. Potts concerning Mumm-Ra

Mr. Potts didn't mention any thing about Mummra. Let's just cross are fingers and hope we see Mummra by the end of the year...

I give up.
I lost this battle for these delays and for the lack of information ...
Tygra will be my last piece of this collection.
Well...I tried.
Thank you guys!

I stopped after Cheetara because I ran out of space and money is an issue but Tygra was one I was still considering. Sucks about all these delays as they can kill the excitement and momentum of this statue line. Looking forward to hearing some positive news eventually.

Hard Hero Thundercats Tygra at the docks April 4th
Finally, Tygra will be at the docks on the 4th of April. Once cleared customs he'll be on the way.
It's about time

Above is from a post by Rob today on the Statue Forums. Just a re-confirmation that Tygra is set to arrive at the docks in less than a week. Hopefully that means he'll make it to customers in under a month.

I have to express my disappointment about HH's inefficiency to be right on schedule. Still nothing with Tygra.

We were trying to support this collection...
I suppose that Tygra should be in Customs.
Nothing was said about Mumm-ra, even after so long.
When we do some questions is because we are interested to buy and support the collection.
When we receive some kind of response they are vague.
I'm disappointed too.

The unfortunate truth is that because of the process involved it is impossible to have a schedule set in stone. The statues are made in a place where the whole area shuts down for a couple of weeks for the new year. But even though the shops close, new orders keep coming in. That creates a backlog when employees come back to work. That in itself seems to create a really weird constant cycle of chaos. Then when the statues arrive at the port in the US, they have been getting selected for closer inspection by customs. That adds another delay. After that, the statues have to make it to the Hard Hero warehouses before HH can put them into individual boxes, put a label on them, and ship them out the customers and retailers who have ordered them. If I recall correctly, it seems to take about a month from arriving at port to getting to buyers when they have to go through customs. Doing my own guesstimations, I am penciling in April 18th for when Tygra might start shipping out to buyers. I'm not going to worry about it unless we don't hear anything official by the 22nd.

And lets not forget that with the nuclear disaster in Japan, there may be additional scanning going on at the ports to ensure no contaminated products get past. Let's just hope the container ship didn't sail through any radioactive debris.

You are right on your analysis aero, but here we are talking about a release rate of 3 statues per year!! Why is it so hard to follow that punctually?? TYgra was supposed to come out right after Bengali and before Mumm-ra. Then he was postponed to early April and now we are speculating late April, at best. I can't justify their inconsistency. They should stick to the schedules becuase this really puts off most fans. The same occured with Cheetara and Bengali. As for Mumm-ra we still waiting for an official answer to what 'postponed indefinetely' means.

I think the delays on Cheetara really took a toll on everyone. Because she had delays, Mumm-Ra, Ben-Gali, and Tygra automatically got delayed too. Even though we are getting more releases now, I still feel like it is taking forever. I know it isn't the case, but it still feels that way.

Looking at the date of announcement of each statue shipping (below), it looks to me that Hard Hero is starting to crank them out about one every 3.5 months. Ben-Gali had an extra delay due to every piece going to BBTS before any shipments went to customers. Tygra's delay was Chinese New Year (CNY) hit just before he was ready to hit the water. Plus, we don't know how far along in the process Mumm-Ra got before his issue(s) came up and took him out of being the third release. I'm just pointing that out, because if the issue(s) came up within the first month into production it would mean Ben-Gali got released within 3 months of him being moved to the third release, and Tygra missing the 3 month mark from Ben-Gali can be blamed on CNY.

Statue - Announcement of release
Lion-O - 1/18
Cheetara - 9/08
Ben-Gali - 1/04
Tygra - 4/??

I too wish we'd get more official updates. It would certainly go a long way to making sure completely false rumors don't get started.

Do you think the loose release dates will start taking a toll on HH sales as well?? I mean i can understand the frustrated fans bailing out...I think some fans have already said that.

An excellent question. But I really don't know. Most of what I have heard over on the Statue Forum is people hearing about people giving up. I think I have only seen 1 or 2 posts of people saying that they (the one posting) was going to stop buying the line. But then again, there is no way to prove they bought any up to this point, so even those claims may be false.

Personally, I think the biggest threat to the HH line is the PCS line. It is hard to support 2 separate lines, and since HH came out first, there could be some who choose to support the PCS line. Then again, PCS had to delay their first piece, and the PCS statues are nearly double the price of the HH ones.

I think cranking out 1 statue every 3-4 months from this point forward would be good. That would be frequent enough to keep interest while also allowing fans time to save a little money each month to be able to buy them when they first release. Plus, if they can get 4-5 statues out with less than 4 months between each, I think/hope most people (myself included) will stop worrying about how long since the last release or how long until the next. I'd much rather worry about who is next, and in what pose.

I don't wanna create controversy or false rumors.
I agree on the fact that there are many variables to consider.
But I think that the manufacturer could establish better communication with customers/collectors.
All kind of conversations and speculations in this direction would be eliminated.
And at that point I'm disappointed.
Not even in my dreams I could imagine so much delay in the delivery of these statues.
It would be too much expect some official position of Mr. Potts?
Let me see?
Apparently the answer is - yes ..
Why talk about the release of new statues if the statues released were not delivered yet?

Can I just step into to say patience is a virture. And we really don't know much about the process of statue creation or selling so its only our best guess.

I'm very much still on-board for one, as I still remember the time when new thundercat's merchandise was a distant and dream-like idea.

So my advice is to just play nice and use the opportunity to save money.

All good things come to those who wait.
