Guess Wave 6

Well, wave 5 has been revealed, so I guess speculation can now begin for wave 6. Here are my pics.

I don't think Snarf will be by himself, how would Super7 justify the $55.00 price tag on just Snarf.

I agree. But I still think he shows up in Wave 6. Maybe with Snarfer or young lion-o.

Just charge $75 for the others in the wave and he'll look cheap by comparison.

I'm going to guess 2 good guys, 2 bad guys. I think they will split Wilykat and Wilykit up into separate waves to try to maintain interest longer in getting main characters unless they release them at a higher price point together. I'll say the finish the mutants with Rataro. Add Cruncher as another Berserker since they started them in wave 5. I think Cruncher because I think it fits their molds best for now (no wheel in the chest, no one will spin feature if they do that). Then I'll add Hachiman for the last good guy.

The only way I see Wilykit and Wilykat sharing a 2 pack is if they charge $84.99 and call it a deluxe release.

Although the LJN berserkers are awesome I hope all the super 7 berserkers have regular legs and bodies like was featured in the cartoon animation.

I agree with that. I recently spoke to somebody about the Berserkers and because I had the LJN toys I never remembered their cartoon bodies - even though I watch the cartoon religiously! It wasn't until after that conversation that I paid attention to it. Hammerhand has been called out for being too small, but in fact, the S7 version is very close to the cartoon, so he is correct and shouldn't be as buffed up as the toy version. I fear we may get complaints from others in the future that the Berserkers may be too skinny, when in fact, some of them were!

In terms of K&K, I do wonder how S7 will release them. Separately? As a combo? If apart, what kind of accessories will they include? I guess the same argument can be made for Snarf that was used for Krang from TMNT. They can all be released on their own. Guess we'll see if any of them appear next. I'd love all three!!! But I highly doubt that.

I think S7 is dragging out releases of popular characters like Kit/Kat/Snarf so that later waves still have buzzworthy headliners.

Wave 6 should have at least one of those. Probably not all three.

But it's worth thinking about what S7 can/will do in wave 8 or 9. We still have Berserkers, mutants, and Lunataks left but the major hero offerings start to dwindle. Child Lion-O and naked Exodus Thundercats are possible but not a long term direction. I think by wave 8, wave 9 at the latest, we'll start seeing 1-2 2011 reboot characters per wave to spice things up. By that point, we should have most or all of the League of Third-Earth and we'll be stuck with Z-listers for good guys unless the 2011 reboot stuff starts to be incorporated.

On the one hand, I think it would have been smarter to drag out the main characters more, but on the other hand if it didn't continue to sell, it would have left us short of a core cast. But Z-listers FTW with me. I am most excited for characters that we've never seen in toy form like Pumm-Ra. I feel it may have been a missed opportunity to get more of them by dragging the line out, but we will see. I'm very, very jealous of what MOTU has been able to get.

MOTU got it reusing the same couple of bodies. TCats has almost no body reuse. That's exciting on one hand and maybe unsustainable on the other.

That's a good point. But it does seem they based all the male ThunderCats on the same buck at least.

They have different sculpted detail that requires different molds, after Panthro at least.

The delaying of Kit and Kat could also be a function of the whole Mattel factory fiasco (assuming it’s a choice between using that factory and retooling at another).
