So when is Cheetara going to be released? Hard Hero's website says end of 1st Quarter and others have it listed as 1st Quarter. So does that mean it will be in March/April?
Does anyone know the date that Diamond Comics has it solicited for?
(Sorry if this has already been discussed. This is my first time on the forums.)

I posted what I was told by Hard Hero about a month ago. By the ballpark timeframe they gave me then, it should be at least a full month until she is released still.
I just looked, Hard Hero now has Cheetara listed as being released Q2. So i guess this means there will be one statue every 3 months (Lion-O in Q1 and Mumm-Ra in Q2).

I was just wandering when Cheetara is going to be released? We were expecting her towards the end of this month but possibly it will take longer, probably a month, around june (i guess). Do we have any update on the release date?

It feels like they are taking forever with Cheetara, I just hope the line doesn't run out of steam before the main line up finishes. I REALLy want the Thundercats and Mummra

To tell you the truth i expected the Lion-o statue to be SOLD OUT much sooner but at HH site the AP version is still available. The regular is still in stock and ready to ship at most of the distribution partners and these stores have him in large quantities.750 pieces produced Worldwide isn't such a big number for a 25 years old show and it looks like it has sold half of that. I don't thing it went so well for the first statue of the line and this might be a sign for the following... . The attention right now is centered on POP culture shock "huge" Lion-o statue.

On 4/14 I got the following message back in regards to a Easy-Pay request I put in since I am out of town and didn't want Cheetara to be out in the rain/heat for a week:
The ship date was moved forward due to a long CNY this year.
Something about the Chinese New Year has affected their shipping date for Cheetara, not sure what that has to do with it...
I too worry that having two different ThunderCats statue lines in production at the same time will result in both having less than desired sales. I, for one, can gurantee Pop Culture will not be making a sale to me for two reasons. One, twice the price of the Hard Hero line. Two, I had already dedicated myself to the Hard Hero line since I had already started paying for Lion-O when the Pop Culture series was hinted at. And if both do have poor sales, it will be a shame and hopefully WB will consider the fact that they had two competing lines of statues to thank for the failure of both...

The price is certainly a major issue and i am really curious to see how PCSC's Lion-o will turn out in the end. One thing i am sure about, is that it will be strictly limited to very few pieces worldwide, quite reasonable given its size and price and judging by the other statues of the company. Much as we are tempted to compare Paul Bennette's lion-o with Jerry Macaluso's it's unfair and even though it's still very early to make an outcome it would be like comparing a G.I joe to an Action Man figure. Size differentiates them a lot

I'm up in the air about PCSC's statues. I feel committed to Hard Hero and as much as I would love to get PCSC's Thundercats statues, they are just too big. The price is one point but the sheer size just seems too big. Where would you put something that size? And if there will be other characters, you can forget about displaying them unless you are fortunate enough to have a separate room reserved for statues/toys. The one thing I like about HH is the fact that you can display them in a display and still look good as a set. You will never be able to fit PCSC's in a case big enough. Aside from that, I think HH pretty much nailed the likeness of Lion-O, bit of a prob at first w Cheetara but they corrected that. For some reason I don't think they will capture Lion-O's likeness as well.I could be wrong but I'm really hoping not to like it lol!

Cheetara in manufacturing. We lost more time that we had hoped with CNY. So, not to worry, she's coming soon. Working on Tygra molding right now and will have color shots soon.

I am still trying to figure out the other part of the message I got from Hard Hero. I brushed it off before...
They said they would be consolidating shipping.
Since I am getting 2 of each statue, I figured that is what they meant. My Lion-O's came together in one bigger box. But after thinking about it some, I am starting to wonder if they mean that Cheetara and Mumm-Ra will ship around the same time. So they would just ship them together, 4 statues in the same box, not 2.

I don't think this is a possible scenario and it would be better if they stuck to their initial schedule of one statue per 3-4 months, however Cheetara is taking too long. Maybe by "consolidating shipping" they meant a smaller production number for the line and each charcter individually. I am saying this because Lion-o was produced in a large scale (750-1000 pieces worldwide) and didn't sell so well, especially the regulars. HH will measure and focus on covering the pre-orders primarily.

But if they send each piece individually, that would run their cost up in shipping. We'll have to wait and see how they do shipping this time.
But at least the ThunderCats line appears to be doing better than the Conan line. Conan has a limited edition of no more than 1,000 with 100 APs, BeLit has 500/100, and Zula has 500/100. All three have all been ready to ship since before Lion-O started shipping, and none of them are sold out of the regular edition, and there are enough AP ones left that you can still get matching numbered ones for all three. And The Thing From The Crypt or whatever it was called has been taken off of the Conan lineup for pre-orders. So Lion-O is doing better than Conan did from the looks of it. The next benchmark will be Cheetara vs BeLit, then Mumm-Ra vs Zula.
Looks like Tygra will be 4th, so maybe Panthro 5th and Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living 6th?

Great observations mcss, I hadn't thought to check the production runs of the Conan line. Remember though that the ThunderCats license is very expensive, possibly more expensive than the Conan line.

Yeah, but keep in mind that Conan has been also produced by other companies like CS Moore Studio, Moebius Models, Sideshow or even the small scale NECA figures so the buyer has the benefit of choice among various Conan statues, personally i consider HH Conan inspired by John Buscema's comic illustration one of the best. Lion-o however is another thing since the franchise has been left intact for so long, i expected him to be sold out right away like the recent TMNT Comiquette by Sideshow Collectibles, but he is still available in large numbers at the internet and e-bay stores for a long period.
Just the shipping costs for each of my two AP Lion-o statues run up to $90.00 USD, it's almost half the product's price but given the box size and weight as well as the far distance dispatch i understand the expensiveness... Certainly i'd rather pay the price of two for one regarding the shipping charges as you mentioned but i can't see this happening since there are market rules which work in a specific policy. The box art is unique for each character and plays a major role in presenting aesthetically better the item, the companies earn more money from producing one piece at a time instead of all together and i believe it's reasonably difficult to encompass 2 statues avoiding any damages into one large box.

Unfortunately no. I have checked the Hard Hero site, Big Bad Toy Store, Statue Forum, Previews World (from Lordore's link above), TCL.org, and my E-mail and there is nothing on any of them to suggest Cheetara is shipping yet. :(
And, just an FYI, Hard Hero's Mumm-Ra page is still down even though I E-mailed them to let them know about it last Thursday.
