Wave 4 Info?

Any idea when they will announce Wave 4?

As much as I want to have a sort of an announcement for wave 4, i rather have wave 2 on fans hand before any news on that. Proper pacing to keep the momentum and excitement going for this line. To be honest, this might be our last chance within the immediate future to be offered a complete Thundercats toy line, so Super7 should be very careful in handling it. IMHO.

Wave 4 is coming month end. There is a teaser in the interview about it which will be published on Monday 14th.

Got pretty hyped seeing that image today!! Snowman is classic, such a cool character to get an Ultimates version of. Looking forward to the full reveal at the end of the month!

I hope that they do more with Pumm-Ra's bio like he existed in ancient Thundera as mage or alchemist.....and not just a Mumm-ra disguise

Why would they make stuff up for Pumm-Ra's bio like he existed in ancient Thundera as mage or alchemist when it really only was Mumm-Ra in disguise?
There is enough info for them to say how Mumm -Ra infiltrated Cats lair by taking on the disguise of a Thundarian in order to steal the sword of Omens and the Claw sheild.

But why not bring more to the character?? Give him more of a background other than Pumm-Ra = 1 off disguise :sleep story ends.
it's not stepping on the shoes of the original use for 'Pumm-ra' just fleshes him out a bit more.
the nether-witch in the comic was a separate character and not just a disguise once used by Mumm-Ra.

Yes I have seen the episode and i know exactly who and want Pumm-Ra (aka Mumm-Ra) really is. Like everyone else does on this forum.

My harmless idea brings another level to the character making him an actual character that doesn't affect the original use for it as previously stated.

Do you not want there to be more from the Thundercats franchise bringing new life and stories for old forgotten characters?
Or do you just want the same 30+ year old stories re-told the same again and again.....

Sometimes adding layers helps bring in new fans.

I just don't agree with you about making Pumm-Ra which is a play on Mumm-Ra's name to be turned into something he never was in the Cartoon. There was no Pumm-Ra on Thundera that existed as mage or alchemist. If you want to see him as that on your Toy shelf more power to you. But there have been many one off Characters Like Chopper or Faker in the Super7 Filmation Club Grayskull line Lord Masque or Shokoti MOTUC line who's bios if they had one followed their cartoon portrayal.

I understand you wish for things to remain stagnated, I would like to this franchise to grow outside of an aging and diminishing fanbase.

Both Faker and Chopper/Jitsu have been used in other media since those episodes and have grown as characters and were even in the original comic books back in the 80s.

Maybe the family of the original Pumm-Ra prayed to the evil Mumm-Ra and in honour of their 'deity' and named their son Pumm-Ra. like families do now with Jesus and Mohamed etc

But I guess we can't agree so we should let for chat revert back to the wave 4 news :-)

They're toy manufacturers. They're not creating a series or comic or anything. They're going to stick to the characters as they were. If you want to pretend like your figure has some other history, go for it, but there's zero reason for Super 7 to just start making stuff up just because.

You're basically asking them to write fan fiction for you. Write your own.

Ive got my Pre-order in. Monkian, to me, is the star of this Wave. I would put Snowman of Hook Mountain as number 2. Its a shame though that if Snowmeow was a part of this wave I think the combination of him and Snowman would have been a jaw dropper. Seems like a missed opportunity. I don't want to nitpick but do Lynx-O's hands look really small or is it just me?? His biceps are huge and it looks like everyday is calf workout day for him. The second Lynx-O head not being with opened eyes also seems like a missed opportunity unless they plan to make a Thunderian Refugee version of him, Bengali and Pumyra at some point. Also, a bit surprised not to see the braille board come with him. The tile is cool and all but the braille board was such a big part of his character, just surprising to not see them include that since Super7 is all about the accessories.

When Mattel started doing MOTUC they used the bios to expand upon their brand and the MOTU mythos to draw in NEW customers and NEW fans as well as provide more information to older fans ones. Why write any bios at all if the existing fanbase already knows everything and anything anyway why not just put a big label on the back saying " if you want to know more buy the DVD today!!"
Oh and ideas have been taken from fanbases since Sherlock Holmes was being written and that worked extremely well for Arthur Conan Doyle...so i'll continue to plant the seeds of expansion without having to write my own. ;)
