Wave 4 Discussion

Figured I start a thread for speculation on Wave 4, which we will hopefully see teased at the end of the summer.

Waves thus far have been balanced with two heroes and two villains each. There’s potential soon for a character that never saw LJN release, and I suspect we won’t see both Lynx-O and Ben-Gali in the same wave. I also think it would be nice to continue seeing female figures. With all that said, here’s my guess (I may have gone overboard with accessories):

Lynx-O – Light shield, Thunderscope, Braille Board, talisman from “Mumm-Ra Lives!”, alternate Mumm-Lynx-O head with eyes open from “Thunderscope”
Mandora – Boomslang, badge, ticket book and pen, cuffs, enzyme catalyzer, prison planet blaster, Chilla arrest warrant, alternate Mutt-Dora head from “RTT! Part IV”, removable jacket/cape
Monkian – Rock-launching shield, morning star mace, regular mace, spheres of power from “Monkian’s Bargain”, flame gun from “Fireballs of PlunDarr”, aviator alternate head from “Trial of Speed”
Safari Joe* – Rifle, Mule, Holojector, energy bat, four rocket manacles, two ThunderKitten-sized bags, kicked bucket

What do you all think? What are your guesses? [emoji846]

* I was originally thinking Hammerhand for this slot but couldn’t picture how they’d reconcile the two versions of him. It seems like a problem to solve later in the line.

For me, my choice of wave 4 figures will be:

Queen Luna ("Mumm-Rana's Belt")
Ben-Gali
Ratilla the Terrible
Torr

With all the previous waves being 2 Thundercats a mutant and a baddie, all previous waves having a figure from the Matty release and with no figure not previously having a release by LJN I'd say were looking at:

Kit and Kat 2 pack for sure since their molds are done.
Lynxo or Bengali with an outside chance of Hachiman or Snowman
Monkian, or less likely Vultureman or Rataro.
Captain Shiner, Mongor, Turmagar or Safari Joe.

My preference: Kit Kat, Hachiman, Monkian, Shiner

I actually think we'll see Kit And Kat as single releases this time like in the vintage line. And if thats the case they might split em up in waves.
I like [USER=362]@thezaxfactor[/USER] 's list but i'd swap mandora with Kat. Kat should come with all his original packout - possibly swapping out his ropes for the ones that came with Kit or including them too in the appropriate color. I don't know why they gave Kat the rope they did - its not based on an appearance anywhere is it?

Lynx-O should definitely include a Pre-Blindness/"The Thunderscope" head (Unless they plan on a Thunderian refuge version at some point - then they can pack it in as an extra there).

Only way I would want Mandora in the line would be if she came with her bike. Not sure they would include that in a basic four figure wave, unless she wound up being listed as an oversized Item Like Mumm-Ra the Ever Living and they charge $60.00 for Mandora.

Yea I’m wondering the exact same thing. Mandora needs her bike. But it would be weird to get her bike before the tank is released. So maybe she could then be released after that? Its a tough call though - would she sell better on her own or with her bike?

This seems arbitrary to me. If she’d had an LJN release without the Electrocharger, would we be thinking along these lines? Do we expect Snowman to definitely come with Snowmeow?

ETA: Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see her come with the Electrocharger (and Snowmeow with Snowman!). I just would consider it a surprise-and-delight extra, rather than an expectation. If the figures are well-designed and have great accessories, I’m buying them regardless.

Mumm-Ra comes with an articulated Ma-Mutt as a two pack for $60.00 so yeah Super7 could easily Do Snowman with Snowmeow or Mandora and her Electrocharger , they would just cost more than $45.00

Oh, totally. I would gladly pay $60 for Mandora with the Electrocharger, but I also wouldn’t not pay $45 for her on her own. That’s all I’m saying.

The obvious caveat to my “whatever, I’ll buy it” attitude is that we should be demanding awesome accessories if we’re willing to shell out for them. An eventual Quickpic deserves to ride around on the back of the Electrocharger with Mandora!

• Wilykit & WilyKat w/ 2 hover boards & stands, 2 sets of hands, whips and weapons, communicators & Snarf w/ candy fruit or pot full of candy fruit ($60)
• Lynx-O w/ braile board, light shield, pre-blind open eyes head with no bandana, 2 sets of hands, wrap around soft good red tunic and tan belt (Thunderian refugee version)
• Monkian w/ shield, firing shiled, mace, morning star mace, 2 sets of hands, generic attack face head w/ helmet, and head without helmet
• Chilla w/ mask of gorgon, the book of Novog Noszh, keystone, plastic cloak, 2 sets of hands, either a generic attack face head OR an ice breath action face head

I would guess that there would also be another mixed item or 2 included with each.

I would guess that there would also be another mixed item or 2 included with each.

Based on the interview with Super 7, I assume we may get the twins later down the line: (Replacing those two with a fan favorite such as Hachiman would be ideal).

BF: Well you’ve gotten WilyKit and WilyKat before, so what’s more important to get to? That’s why we gave you Cheetara now. We’ll get there. You’ll see.

i know that he said that but we also had seen every single release from Wave 1 and we got all those in one Wave. Realistically, i thought WilyKit & WilyKat and Snarf would have ended up being a Con exclusive but with everything going on and i dont know when the next Con will be, i added them to this Wave. Also, since they already have the molds and are would be ready to go. Wave 1 was all previously released figures, Wave 2 had Grune had already been seen abut not released and Wave 3 had Jaga, also in the same boat. So, i think the Thunderkittens would be sooner as opposed to later. There would also be a section of fans/collectors that want/need them to finish the "core" line of original Thundercats. I hope i am wrong though because i really have no interest in paying a large sum for the 2 of them AGAIN. Maybe they will do the individually and one comes with Snarf and one comes with Snarfer. Something like that would be cool. I would just be very surprised to see them wait too long before releasing them however they plan to do.

I don't think we'd get Mandora and her Electrocharger bike for $60, more like $100 at least.
Same goes for Snowman with Snowmeow, however I think we have a much stronger chance of getting Snowmeow then we do Electrocharger.

No way at $100.00 for Mandora and her Electrocharger. I said Mumm-Ra was $60.00 Because its a deluxe 2-pack with Ma-Mutt. I fully expect That Mandora and Snowman could also be deluxe. I can see both Snowman & Mandora being $70.00, but Don't expect a Huge Snowmeow the size Of MUTUC Battlecat, that's If super7 even includes Snowmeow, otherwise Snowman will just be a $45.00 figure on his own.

I don't think you've got a cat in hells chance ;) of getting Mandora and her Electrocharger bike for $60. Sky High and Jet Sled was $50 back in 2013 and look how much prices have increased since then.

Why do you keep saying $60.00? I stated it would be possible to get Mandora and her Electrocharger for $70.00 $45.00 for the Mandora figure with accessories and $25.00 for the Electrocharger all in one Deluxe package. You realize the Electrocharger is just going to be a chunk of hollow plastic that Mandora can sit on so it shouldn't be an expensive accessory for her.
