1. If you're not a fan of the new Tygra, don't post in this thread. It's a fan thread in the 2011 series forum for the new Tygra, so let's allow only those who are a fan of this new Tygra post here. If you're a fan of the old Tygra but not a fan of the new one, just stay out of the thread and let those who like the new Tygra talk about that character. Comments regarding the old Tygra are welcome as well, though.

2. Liking the new Tygra doesn't mean you have to like everything about that character, it's okay to post some negative comments as well, but in this thread it should be by people who overall like the new Tygra.

3. Let's keep the fan threads debate free. If one person says something they don't like about the new Tygra that another person would like to debate or vice versa, then you need to debate it in another thread about that particular topic. This doesn't mean the thread has a unique line of thought: different opinions are welcome as well.

At the risk of repeating myself I'd like to reiterate this much.
Gotta say that I really love the whole sibling rivalry thing going on between Lion-O and Tygra in this series. Claudus even drives it more home to Lion-O by chastising him and stating that Tygra would make a better king.

Oh and I dug the flashback of Tygra whooping up on young Lion-O whilst sparring for some reason too. :thumbsup:

This Tygra is actually more powerful than Lion-O in terms of skill and combat prowess at the time of Claudus' death so Lion-O will always be striving to compete with him to demonstrate his legitimacy for the throne.

I really like how they are handling the characters in this version of the Thundercats. They no longer seem like one big happy family that doesn't squable at all and seem more like an actual group of people with their own quirks and characteristics.

Tygra being Lion-O's adopted older brother is great I think. It sets up an interesting dynamic between the two and it'll be fun to watch Tygra grow up and realize that he can't always be better than Lion-O at everything.

I love Tygra, especially in the premier! Sure he's ****y and a bit of a jerk,but it was always laced with humor. Even still we got to see his serious and angry side aswell. I though he was the most dimensional l character of the premier.

I used to make fun of the old Tygra all of the time, but I really like this new Tygra.

Like Tygra in the new serie, because he has more character. And he is one of my favorite persons in thundercats ( Lion-O and snarf the both other...only cheetara I don´t like).

Yeah I like the NS Tygra and that coming from a TOS diehard Lion-O fan.


He a much more interesting character here with a ‘charming’ personality. Really can’t wait for the show to reveal more about his past especially his lineage and adoption by Cladus or how his character will evolve and grow in future arcs.


Can’t remember, but a poster here liken him to Dinozzo from NCIS and I think that quite an accurate comparison of him : ****y, Arrogant, Self Proclaimed ladies man but when the **** get real, you know he’s got your back. I really feel that Tygra has the potential to be the break character of the show.

I had a feeling.

Now if they'd sharpen the writing up a little bit and let the sarcastic wit fly. Allow Tygra to embrace not being a really touchy feely people person.

Lion-o and Tygra really could be a hoot playing off of one another.

I kind of get the feeling Tygra can shut the charm on and off like a switch if he wants too. Which kind of ties in to Tygra's weapons were the twin blades of truth and illusion.

I honestly wonder if Claudus used him in a more poltical/dipomatic way at court. Tygra seemed to be a good counter weight to his father in that regard. Let's face it... We can say a lot about Claudus but I don't think "Diplomatic" is one of them. :D

I'm kind of hoping Tygra becomes the character Lion-o turns to when he wants the truth non-sugercoated, no holding back. It's one of those things only siblings can give you.

Me too.

It's funny I keep thinking about those little drugged tiger cubs they found in a smugglers suitcase and can't help but wonder if art might reflect real life in this case. And Claudus may have rescued Tygra from something truly horrible he only remembers vaguely or something.

Tygra is awesome. The fact that in the new series he wears armor, and carries a gun just makes it all the more better. The first figure I got from the ThunderCats Classic line from Bandai was Tygra. (mainly due to Lion-O being sold out)

Although, the sense I'm getting right now from Tygra is that he is being the reluctant helper. I think he is having to muster up all his willpower to help Lion-O.

I like the drawing. Keep at it and you will only get better.

A story arc merely refers to a particular storyline e.g. Panthro's mission to find the Book of Omens which resulted in Grune's Betrayal or Lion-O's sibling rivalry with Tygra etc. etc.

I don't think Tygra would do that. Although I could see him pushing his head under water and bringing him back up for air if he got annoyed enough. Or maybe give him a swirly. :p
