Hello all! Sorry I haven't uploaded any new artwork in a while but just haven't had the time to do any. Fortunately I had the weekend off so quickly did this Pumyra painting. Hope you guys like it :D

These are awesome, especially since watercolor is a tricky medium to work with.

I did these two for my very dear friend "Originalthundercatroar". They are illustrations based on the Tygra and Cheetara "Hard Hero Statues" done in the style of LJN box art. These are both digital paintings but since I didn't want to start a separate thread, I am posting them in my watercolor paintings thread. :)

Thanks culvuk6! :) Unfortunately all of my ThunderCats paintings have already been taken by my friends and family (mostly nieces and nephews!). Now I'm starting to regret ever introducing them to ThunderCats! LOL! :D

No worries. "ThunderCats" itself is pure artistry.

Hi all,
These are illustrations I did of the TCats using watercolors. I wanted to give them a bit of a "realistic" look while still trying to be faithful to the original cartoon design. Enjoy :)
Your work is absolutely stunning. The Mumm-Ra reminds me a lot of Alex Ross' style.
Panthro looks a bit like Vin Diesel.
Your skill with watercolor is amazing. It is a difficult medium to master but you have. :D

Thanks! You already know how big a fan of Alex Ross I am. ;)

Vin would make a great Panthro if they ever decide to make a live-action movie of TCats. :biggrin

Thanks again! It is a tough medium and can be very unforgiving at times. It also has a lot of limitations. Can't say that I've truly mastered it, but we get along most of the time! LOL! :)

What I like about acrylics is when you do mess up it's easy to work over the top.
Do you work from light to dark/ My tutor at college said with water colour you had to work from light to dark. With acrylics I start with the medium then dark, then light then ore dark...then more light...then medium and so on until it looks right lol.
