Much like the thread about remembering the TV show I thought we could share some of our fondest memories of the toys.
Of all the memories I have of getting/playing with the toys this one really stands out in my mind the most.
One night, and I do believe it was a Friday, when I was 4 or 5 we were shopping late at the supermarket, Stewarts of Coleraine. I was at the toy isle and I seen the Thunder-Tank. At the time I thought it was huge and the art work on the box was amazing and I said I would like it. My Mum and Dad said they would get it for me eventually but not that night. I can't recall if it was the next day or a couple weeks later but on a Saturday (we always went to Coleraine on Saturday as well) my parents told me they were taking me to get the Thunder-Tank. My Dad always liked buying toys out of Woolworths so that's were we went, but as we got into Coleraine a storm started and the rain was coming down extremely heavy. It was so bad that I had to stay in the car with my Mum and my Dad said he would go and get it. A while passed and he came back to the car soaked and handed me my toy. The only problem was it was the Hover-Cat and not the Thunder-Tank. I felt bad having to say it's the wrong one but he turned and went back and eventually came back with the Thunder-Tank.
Oddly enough I still remember the jacket my Dad was wearing that day as it was grey with red which reminds me of the Thunder-Tank.

Thats a wonderful story, Mark M! :)
I have lots of fond memories of getting ThunderCats toys, I´m gonna share this one:
When I was 7 years old, me and the family went to an amusement park here in Holland called "Ponypark Slagharen". Besides rollercoasters, merry-go-rounds and stuff like that, the place also had/has a large giftshop-type area. We went in one and there was an entire section of the story filled with 'factory error' ThunderCats toys (at least thats what the lady behind the register told us). My 7 year old mind was blown! Crates full of Ram Bams, Monkians, Jackalmans and god knows what. All loose and without weapons. They also sold boxed vehicles 'as is', meaning some parts may not be included in the box  Then I saw it: THE MUTANT FISTPOUNDER! O MY GOD!! I got some spending money from my grandmother, enough to buy the FistPounder and 1 figure. So, me and my mom spent about 45 minutes sitting on the floor opening ALL FistPonder boxes, figuring out what it should contain and getting the best box filled with all parts, for me to buy :D It was a lot of fun and I treasure that memory, as well as the toys I got that day:) Oh the figure I got was Monkian

I had the Lion-O, Jackalman, Monkian, Ram-Bam, and Slithe figures and even the Mumm-Ra's Tomb Fortress playset.

What a great thread! My very first memory was when I was 6. TC had just come out in South Africa. We visited my cousin in another part of the country. It was winter, I remember it clearly. Both our families walked into one of the shops that also sold toys, and there, lo and behold, was a rack filled with TC figures. I don't remember seeing any other vehicles, but I just remember seeing them hanging there. I begged my dad to please buy me the Cheetara & Wilykit combo, but he refused. My little heart was broken, so I wept so loud that he felt too embarrassed to say no again. Ironically, my cousin tried the same stunt, but his dad just gave him a look - and he ended up getting Lion-O!!! Sadly I lost Cheetara one day by thinking I would put her to bed on a bed of leaves outside because it was snug! She was gone the next day!!! So sad!!! :( I eventually got her back though along with the rest of the gang.
Another cool memory was visiting a friend who's folks had bought him all the TC figures, and that was the first time I saw Pumyra. Because that season never aired here (or at least I don't remember ever seeing it!) I thought it was Willa!!! I was puzzled because why did she have a TC symbol on and where o where was Nayda??!!!! Only years later I realized it was Pumyra!! If only they had made Willa and Nayda....

Those are great stories you have all shared.
This story is a about an odd coincidence involving Thundercats toys.
From 94-97, long after the show and toyline finished I found a Thundercats toy in a shop each year.
In Easter of 94 I got Turmagar the Tuska in Poundstretchers, Londonderry.
In the summer of 95 I found the Hovercat in hardware store in Portrush, but I had to take it back and didn't get to keep it as the box was badly damaged and the vehicles action did not work.
In the summer of 96 I got Pumyra in a small shop in Letterkenny.
In late September/ early October of 97 I got Hachiman in Poundstretchers in Ballymena. We went down after my Mum and Dad collected me from High School and I went in and by chance I passed the toy isle and they had loads of Hachiman figures....well over 20. I decided to go back down to get some more to keep as collector pieces or to trade for figures I didn't have at a later date but we went back down on the Saturday and someone had been in and bought all of them.

Some great stories here.
This is my memory of the last LJN Thundercat bought in a store. We were on a little vacation to visit my Grandma. It actually wasnt very fun as she was more of a grouch and there was nothing for a kid to do at her house. We went out to pick up a few things and happened to stop at a Ben Franklin store. While looking around I was stunned to find a few figures. This was well after they had disappeared from all of the normal stores that I ever frequented. I was so excited and instantly began to beg for one. I didnt have to beg very hard this time as I believe they felt a little sorry for me being that it would normally be a pretty boring weekend there. I picked out Grune and opened him up as soon as we got to the car. Needless to say it turned out to be a great weekend after all. If I had only known that I wouldn't see anymore afterword I would have definitely pushed for more than one!

Another memory I have is about 8 years after I lost my TC toys (either misplaced or threw away, I don't know apart from the Cheetara ordeal), I was about 13 - a kid in high school came up to me one day and asked me if I wanted to buy some toys. I was walking home from school. He had a bag filled with figures, and I saw a bunch of TC toys so I said I'd like them all, and told him I'll meet him the next day to buy it from him. I had to beg my dad for some cash, it cost me R50 back then - which is nothing today, but it was a lot then. So I finally got about 8 of them. I remember having poseable Wilykat and pvc kit - I was so upset, I wanted her to move too, so I cut off her head and put a needle in so she could sway her head. It didn't work!! It looked crap. I was so upset with myself later on. But still remember it. I only got a poseable Wilykit 2 years ago!!

Thundarianroyalguard, reading your great story brought something back to me. My cousin got the mummy Mumm-Ra at a theme park in England in the late 80's / early 90's. I believe he said it was Alton Towers. He said they had loads of them all in clear sealed plastic bags. Much like the vintage Palitoy Star Wars figures, which we both also collected at the time.
It would be really interesting to find out how these places got these figures.

I have always been a fan of the show for as long as I remember. Unfortunately none of my original toys made the transition from childhood to adulthood with me, so I had to go the eBay route to get my collection back. I do still have one snap of me with my original Lion-O.

I came across it in a book called 'Just can't Get Enough'. Its an interesting book of two people reflecting back on their childhood toys and memories from the 80's.
Merged Post:
I don't know if this really counts as a toy memory but it came back to me after a post by adssse on Cap'n Cracka thread.
The first school bag I ever got was a Thundercats satchel. I loved that bag and kept it for many years. In fact I am pretty sure there might be some pictures of me with it when I started school. If I find them I will post them. The satchel in this photo is slightly different as mine had a red strap, but aside from that it was the same. http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...ts_Satchel.jpg"" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...ts_Satchel.jpg
I got it in the summer when we were on holiday in England before starting school. Here in Northern Ireland I can't say I recall ever seeing any in the shops or anyone else with one.
At least I got one Thundercats item on that holiday after stupidly passing up the chance to get Driller for a robot. The robot looked a lot cooler on the box than it actually was LOL.
