Thundercats have been removed from product list at Bandai's website. Is this the official seal of end of Bandai thundercats? :(

It's obvious Bandai hasn't been putting out any new "ThunderCats" products lately.

Though very unlikely, this could be a good sign of Bandai giving the master license for the classics to another company.

Does anyone know when Bandai's license expires?

Are such documents public? If so, I'd really like to know.
Bandai is foolish for not continuing the classics line. They underestimate the adult collector market, albeit having no experience.
Playmates has also no history in the field but they are doing a fantasic job with the TMNT classics, second only to MOTUC.

Let us not forget Hasbro, Diamond Select and Mattel's Classics super hero lines also.
If Bandai Japan had been working on Thundercats things would be very different.

Im pretty sure someone will pick up the thundercats line in the future, probably not the near future though.....there is a huge market for adult collectors and the business model has been proven...through MOTU Mattel.....and more recently the TMNT Playmantes...meanwhile we got minimates, all kinds of statues that will never produce more than 4 or 5 characters.....its a waiting game.....the only catch is....will any of these companies start producing this thundercats classics line before the generation that will actually buy them disappears....Im 30 and there's roughly a 20 year window for collectors that grew up with thundercats to be delivered with this product...

This. SO this. Bandai Japan makes some real quality stuff (if a tad expensive). Makes me wish the new ThunderCats had been fully produced (and aired) in Japan. We'd have more merchandise than we could handle.

Yes and it's not just quantity, the quality of the products would be vastly superior.

Believe it or not, I was in there last night, and hardly any of the links worked.
I can understand them cancelling the cartoon line of toys, but I'm just thoroughly disgusted with the fact that they poop canned the Classics line, because I know from experience they were selling quite well because they were always sold out! At least the big ones.
I stalked Wal-Mart like its crazy ex girlfriend, and I still couldn't get the big figures, I had to buy them on Amazon. Toys R Us still have the 6" Lion-Os for $18.00 and change, I guess I better go get a couple of those and Mumm-Ra before they're sold out and gone for good too.
MXThundercat hit the nail on the head and illustrated the problem beautifully! These toy companies need to realize that their bread is buttered better with the adult collector market. I'm all for passing the ThunderCats story on to the next generation, but the people who grew up with it need a little love too. Mattel toy fans and Playmates people get all kinds of delicious finger food to savor, but ThunderCats fans tend to wind up like the person of questionable parentage at the family reunion. :lionomad:

WB don't communicate with the Thundercats fans. The longer they ignore us and leave us without merchandise to keep interest in the brand the more damage they are doing. A lot of fans will just start concentrating on other lines they have invested in. Then when a new classics line does come along a lot of us might not be so eager to buy them due to buying other lines or just plain loss of interest. I love TC and I would buy every character in a classics line but I wouldn't be eager to start buying them if it was going to get cancelled after 2 or 3 figures. If we could even just get the 4 main TC and Mumm-Ra I would be happy enough.

How about we take up a case to WB
If we work as a team perhaps we can take up the case to warner brothers or file a petition for this.

As MXTHUNDERCAT and 2011thundercats said the time is now and we should contact WB. I am 28 at present and I am steadily loosing interest in collecting toys as it is, there is only a few more figures I want before I call it a day collecting. Although if we got a Thundercats Classics line that would be an exception and I would collect the lot. :D

alright, so I guess the only step after acknowledging that the market is huge, but only if it starts NOW.....is for someone that has the POWER to make it happen to realize it and invest their production company into it.....to be completely honest at this point i dont know if anyone with real influence reads these posts...or if they just laugh when they do.....I cant help but remember the BANDAI representative at the toyfare describing the new thudercats products and how much "research" BANDAI had done, as well as how "exited" and "aware" with the classics fans they were....didnt seem like the listened to any fans at all......i guess all we can do is cross our fingers and HOPE....I have doubt these figures would sell....and sell out .......

The only companies that could attempt to sell a Thundercats Classics line would be Mattel, Diamond Select Toys or NECA. Even though I am sure Hasbro or Playmates could do an excellent job I just don't think it would interest them without a current comic/TV show/movie to support it.

Anybody familiar with "Jakks Pacific" toys? They were founded by LJN toys (we all know there work lol)
It would be awesome for them to acquire the master license, to pay homage to the Original toy line!
On a side note, any one hear that "Jazware" acquired the new Teen Titans toyline? CN not teaming up w/ Bandai the 2nd time around lol!

Jakks Pacific would be a great company to produce "ThunderCats" toys.
