Pixel Dan confirmed that Super7 will be restarting Classics. So likely no Ultimates, but new versions. Rumours also say the first wave will have 6 figures!
New versions!!?? WHOA!! :00

So Super7 finally confirmed they have the ThunderCats license. The reveal will be on Monday 12th August, before PowerCon. Are you excited? What do you expect to see? The image used to announce it shows a somewhat updated sword, claw shield and glowing eyes which can only mean the rumours of the Ultimate Lion-O is true. What do you think will be revealed as the first wave? Jaga, Grune and 2 others or perhaps 4 totally new ones?
The glowing eyes are photoshopped on as well as the Eye of Thundera.
6 on the first wave
Including tygra, slythe, jaga and grune
Will be classics and reactions available
They will be starting the line fresh-sorry people who kept there matty collector classics!

It is fact that they are restarting. Pixel Dan confirmed it.

Yes the glowing eyes are obviously photoshopped. The rest, I highly doubt it.

Please show me where its confirmed they are restarting. I've watched his interview several times and looked over Pixel Dans twitter. no where does is state that its "restarting". and yes, the eye of thundera is photoshopped.

Go to his Facebook page and under the Thundercats post. He says it in the comments.

Nothing to be sorry about to those people who kept their Matty Thundercats. In fact I personally envy them especially those who have complete set.Regardless if Super7 start fresh/restart/continue whatsoever, those Matty Thundercats will be a part of the collection unless you are into it lightly.
Same thing happened with Club Grayskull Filmation when Super7 took over... Matty He-Man version had enough difference to Super7 version to warrant Matty He-Man relevance and staying presence to the collection. I doubt things will be different with this Thundercats line.

But I still think they have to be careful here. I'm not interested in buying a new Panthro that is essentially the same as the one I already own. And it means it takes longer to complete a set, and we all have to be wary about this line being able to finish after Mattel and BanDai both cut and ran. They better have a very solid plan. If I don't get a Cheetara again...

I suppose they will probably mix OK, it wasn't like the Mattel figures were drastically off-model or something. in fact some of them I'm not really sure (like Jackalman) how they will really improve it much. And they can't redo everyone in the first year, so for awhile they stand in.

I hear you, but not to worry, I have it on VERY GOOD authority that we will not be disappointed. There is LOTS of ThunderCats goodness on the horizon.

Aren't Jackalman's legs assembled wrong?

It's probably good that they're starting over to help bring in the new collectors. I just really hope the level of detail on the figures is more Collector's Choice and less Club Grayskull.
I definitely feel this way.

They are. The knees are reversed.

I definitely agree. I hate the Club Greyskull aesthetic, it really doesn't blend that well with the original Classics.

I agree. I have said since the announcement of the Mattel figures that the Thundercats figures couldn't rely on the MOTUC buck.
I think it's a great more for Super 7 to start over with new individual bucks that better suit the characters.
I will only pick up the core characters and nothing else and sell off the old ones (if i can) and those i don't want.
I never opened pumyra or lion-o and we 'know' that that they will/should re-release Lion-O and i can imagine pumyra will be adjusted to better fit.
Tbh i'll try and avoid those characters i don't want to re-buy but with the subscription style purchasing it'll be hard.
Core Character to me
Lion-O
Jaga (non spirit)
Panthro
Tigra
Cheetara
Snarf
Lynx-o
Bengali
Pumyra
Kit
Kat
Ever Living Mumm-Ra
Mummy Mumm-Ra (doubt they'll better the original)
Ma-Mutt
Sssithe
Jackelman
Monkian
Vultureman
Ratar-O
Grune
EXTRAS for me
Hatchiman
Safari Joe

I agree with those that have already purchased the Mattel Classics (i did) but i also understand that business must move forwards.

If they listen to the fans and give us unreleased ones expect Mad-Bubbler and the lunatiks.
Anyone guess what time they will release the information today???
I have to say that unless this is accompanied by a reveal of some new figures, this has failure written all over it. I like some of the changes, but that's some serious coin. I don't see anyone but the most hardcore going for these Ultimates at these prices. Are we supposed to bankrupt ourselves rebuying the same things over and over again to get this to be successful?
Aslo, while I think it's nice for Mumm-Ra to be available to everyone now, it makes the whole Mattel subscription feel incredibly pointless in the end.
Please show us more.
