I think she is absolutely inexperienced to become a candidate for Vice President. Can you imagine her as President if something happens to McCain?
Tomorrow's debates should give us a better feeling about her stance on the major issues, but from her previous interviews, I'm not expecting very much.
What do you guys think?

I will never understand that choice. She contributed to a spike in the polls going into the convention and raised herself to celebrity status which was good in the short term for McCain, but as far as understanding and being able to articulate policy it's a dangerous choice. Women who wanted to vote for Hilary Clinton aren't going to switch to McCain, Conservatives were going to vote for him or nobody, and Alaska I believe has 3 electoral votes so no help there. I think Huckabee would have been a great choice but McCain didn't seem to consider him. Romney...I could have went either way but definitely would have been more comfortable with him in the spot since he's been vetted by public opinion throughout the primaries and most people hadn't heard of Sarah Palin until August. I read in June she was a possibility along with the CEO of Ebay Meg Whitman so I took THAT seriously lol. Biden has experience in foreign policy and is a good speaker so I'm predicting a route in that debate. I felt Obama won the first one too. I'm a registered Republican and I will still vote for McCain but I don't think he is going to win.

Sarah Palin strikes me as being somebody who doesn't know much beyond guns, God, babies and Alaska, which is not a good qualification for the vice-presidency. :(

I think McCain thought he could sweep up all the ex-Hillary voters (Women). In the short term it semi worked, up until she started talking. In the long run I think he just shot himself in the foot. She doesn't seem "rugged" enough for the job. Also, I swear that when McCain gives a speech, I start falling asleep. Obama speaks with empowerment. I miss that. A president that speaks in a way that commands respect (Reagan). We need that again.
In the little bit of available interviews out there is any kind of indication of Sarah Palin's fitness for any kind of serious office, then I think she's going to get creamed tonight. She clearly doesn't read and can't answer a specific question. I'm sorry but she comes off as unqualified at best, and extremely dangerous at worst.

It's all going to depend which Sarah Palin shows up tonight: the one who spoke at the RNC, or the one who spoke to Katie Couric. ;)
I'm not a big Biden fan and he too has his own problems, but he could definitely give Obama an even larger lead in the polls if he schools Palin.

"If you want to know the state of the economy go to a kid's soccer match on any Saturday morning and hear what the parents are saying."
Wow. Just wow.
The difference between talking in front of a friendly crowd and someone at best non-partisan and worst against you is drastic, and we've seen that the last few weeks. Her knowledge of issues just isn't ready for prime time and I think she will prove to be a poor choice looking back. But personally I'm to the point I don't care who wins if the economy gets better.

I thought she did surprisingly well in the debate... but only because she did well against the very low bar she has set for herself so far... what did you guys think of her performance on the debate?

She held up better than I expected. However, she had a hard time actually answering the questions. I think it had to do with her prewritten statements she thought would be able to help her. It didn't.
I also disliked the way she kept bringing Alaska into almost every issue. No offense, I definitely have respect for her given she's governing a U.S. state; however, it isn't like she's governing California or New York. We're talking about Alaska here.
Lastly, I totally get why she reaches the regular joe; she doesn't portray your typical policitican. That's the good. But I just can't figure out why she would tell America to ask soccer moms about the ongoing issues regarding the current economic situation?! WTH?
Overall, she definitely did better than I thought she would...that doesn't necessarily mean I like her though. She still doesn't seem like a good vice presidential candidate and a person who could potentially become President of the United States.

Agreed Manny, she has no qualifications to speak of, but she is cute though.
Did you guys watch this weekend's Saturday Night live with Tina Fey?
I can't understand how this woman is still on the international radar. Weird.

Did you guys hear that the lady's getting her own reality show? A reality show! Oh, yeah, it'll improve her visibility, but how will it improve her qualifications as a future president or vice-president? News flash: It won't.

I agree she should stay in Alaska. This 15 minutes of fame has lasted 5 minutes too long.

I found it interesting that prior to the Tuscon shootings, Sarah Palin had a map posted on her website that used hunting rifle crosshairs to "target" Democratic opponents, one of whom was Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, the shooter's intended target. After the shootings Sarah hurriedly took down her map. I'm not saying that Sarah intentionally inspired Jared Loughner to literally go gunning for Congresswoman Giffords, but Ms. Palin had used gun-themed metaphors in her speeches and Ms. Giffords had replied that words have consequences. Looks like she was right. :(

I was going to keep this to myself but I was wondering who else was going to mention this. I'm a republican but damn it, you don't do s hit like that! You don't post faces with a bull's eye on them.
