The height of Lord Lion-O in figure form

Here's something that I was thinking about. I know that many fans and collectors have mentioned that Lion-O should be taller as well as mentioning that Jackalman was a bit too tall. The character design sheets do suggest that Lion-O is taller than the mutants so it got me thinking, is Bandai 8 inch classics Lion-O compatible with the mutants from the ultimates line? Lion-O does seem slightly taller than what he needs to be so maybe not perfectly compatible, but the scaling isn't too far out if want your Lion-O to be taller than the mutants anyway. I just think that is a good alternate option if you have that figure as well as Mattel/Super7 versions. I guess I just wondered what the opinions of others would be on this. I know the styles are different but the Bandai 8 inch version does look a lot like Lion-O in the show. It seems like we may not see a re-tooling of Lion-O from Super7 any time soon. It's a bit late for that right now as Super7 will want to get more characters out before going back to Lion-O again, that is at least what I would expect anyway. Why would fans want to hold out for yet another Lion-O figure? You can make the Lion-O that we did get from Mattel and Super7 scale a bit better with Jackalman if you have Jackalman in a pose where he's hunched and on slightly bended knees, which was how he often looked anyway. We shouldn't have to do that but it is an option. Watching the show back, you can't tell any obvious or significant height differences between characters such as the core adult cats and the mutants. Slithe is slightly shorter but not by much. Going back to Bandai 8 inch classics Lion-O, I do like that figure and it's nice to think that perhaps you can use him with the mutants from the ultimates line because the one sad thing about that Lion-O was having no Thundercats villains to go with him. Waiting for another Lion-O or having to purchase another Lion-O just seems like a drag at this point. There should be no need for going back and re-tooling and I think it's important to have Lion-O at the very beginning if you're starting a Thundercats figure collection. At this point, it seems a bit too late to do what should have been done in the first place and by the same token, it's too early to do Lion-O again when there are still a lot more characters to do. Super7 could maybe do an anointed Lion-O figure later on but if they completely re-tool him, it will completely undo what they've already done with Lion-O. It's a double-edged sword. As it stands, we still have a nice Lion-O figure despite it not being totally accurate. When the red version comes, there will be 3 of him in that scale if you include the Mattel one. Does it really look like there is a plan to re-do him? The line is just starting to pick up momentum by getting a wider range of characters out. Mattel and Super7 have done Thundercats figures to be compatible with MOTUC. Lion-O looks good with MOTUC and he is the same height as He-Man. If someone was mixing those 2 universes, I think they would most likely expect Lion-O and He-Man to be a similar height and if Lion-O was going to be any taller, it would only be because of his hair meaning there wouldn't be much in it. I just think it's good when you can utilise something in a new toyline from an old toyline that failed. It then becomes a bigger asset than what you may have originally thought it was. Case and point, I really liked the MOTU 200x toyline. Ultimately it failed but as the years have gone on, I have found that those figures scale well with a lot of other toylines that have followed. 8 inch Lion-O is a bit lanky but he is more cartoon accurate than other versions. As many have stated, the Mattel/Super7 version is a bit stumpy. From watching the show, I'd say that Lion-O is somewhere in between. He's not stumpy but he's not lanky either. I'm going to bring the colours of Mumm-Ra and Tygra into this as well. I do agree that Mumm-Ra is more grey than blue. As for Tygra, I am aware that the animation cells meant for his attire to feature a greenish colour just as I am aware that some toy companies have gone down the route of making it feature blue but I found that in most episodes of Thundercats, his attire looked grey. A combination of dark grey and light grey. I can live with Mumm-Ra being a bit on the blue side but grey would have been my preference and I certainly would not be against a grey outfit Tygra. I know it wouldn't technically be his intended colour but that is how he looked in a lot of episodes.

He's a bit tall as you say, looks decent though.

I thought so and of course the Jackalman figure is taller than the Slithe figure so I think that would work. Also, if this Lion-O is on slightly bended knees, the height difference would be less apparent. I certainly think that this Slithe has enough bulk to be compatible with this Lion-O.
