In regard to the Font, if we add the words/titles in Photoshop, why would it matter what a device does and does not recognize?

It wouldn't. It's just easier/more adaptable to have a template that doesn't require Photoshop work.

Ya, I created this HTML template hoping that it would cut down on the work of any member of the team involved with creating new pages. Also if a team member does not have Photoshop or a similar photo-editing software, then they could use this template.

Since the head and bar are two separate elements, it's a little bit tough to get them exactly aligned on different screen sizes/resolutions as the browser re-positions them itself.

I just made a minor adjustment that looks equally good on desktop and mobile for me, in multiple browsers. How does it look for you all? I also added a drop shadow to the text—thoughts?

Looks great in my browser! :thumbsup

I'm not too sure about the drop shadow though. While there is nothing wrong with it visually, it does not fit with the overall theme of the site where we have white text, without drop shadow, on the red/maroon background. Like the menu bar, the link icons, the character icons and all other similar design elements. The drop shadow makes the banner look "disconnected" from the rest of the design elements.

Agreed on both! :)

Now we've got the ball rolling, let's make lemonade :)

  • I just spent 30 minutes banning spammers. Though I enjoyed it, it feels like a lateral move :) I enabled "Manual Approval" for new users, so lets see if that works/helps. Please feel free to approve/reject new users when you spot an alert. When in doubt please ask for a second opinion :)
  • Though its not super popular, our Fan-Fiction page is divided in 2 sections; individual "pages" from members and another section with 'normal' threads/posts... Can we get rid of the individual pages? It looks odd and outdated; newest post is Dec 2016.
  • A while back we got hacked/malwared, whatever. It got resolved BUT every link (text and image!) on every page and sub-page on the site got little media-scripts attached to it, which results in very, very long loading time of every page. These scripts need to be removed "by hand", i.e. DEL or BACK SPACE. Wilycub and myself have deleted a few hundred, if not a few thousand, already, but there are plenty to go around. So if you're bored or happen to stumble upon these little gray play-buttons, please feel free to delete them! :)

Thats all I got for now... thoughts?

I vote yes. Not only is it outdated—it also looks like we're elevating certain authors. BUT, there is something nice about keeping authors' works organized. Short of making a section on the site and having to curate and upload the fics ourselves, forum subsections do the job for us. If we were to see an uptick in contributions there, it could get unwieldy fast.

Whoa. I see what you mean. I can tackle cleaning up the episode guide pages. Copying the HTML into a text editor and doing a quick find and replace doesn't take too long. I can also use this as an opportunity to style the older episode guide pages as I've styled the newer ones.

If I recall correctly, the "Fan Art" section was also similarly split into 2 sections, one for the general threads and one for well-known/regular fan artists. But when Mark took over he merged the two sections. I guess he felt that same way as you do. :) I too vote that we merge the two sections into one. Many of the writers in the top section have only contributed one piece of fan-fiction. It will be a real hassle for us if every fan-fiction writer who has posted at least on piece demands that his/her thread should be moved to the top section.
