I looked around the boards and I couldn't find a similar post. If there is another one please feel free to delete this. But I just got this Snowmeow in from a collector in the UK and wanted to use it for another project but i noticed that this Snowmeow seemed a little bit different compared to one I already had. One seemed a little bit heavier compared to the other one and the plastic even seemed a bit different. The Snowmeow with the dark brown saddle had a softer plastic that you could squeeze somewhat, while the black saddled Snowmeow's plastic was much harder and the figure itself was lighter in weight. The paint job of the dark brown saddled Snowmeow also seemed much better as far as "staying inside the lines" (You can see in the photos below).Looking closer at them I noticed a few other differences between the two figures. The figures look to be a bit different in size. or at least in spacing. you can see some slight difference in the photos such as paw placement.
The Snowmeow on the left has a black saddle and the one on the right has a dark brown saddle
The tails are a little bit diffferent. The one on the right arches upward at a sharper angle and looks to be a bit different than the other.
(another view of the tails)
The closer black saddled Snowmeow figure has more blue in its paint whereas the one behind it (brown saddled) has more white and only a hint of blue.
Anyone know anything about this one? I am guessing it is just a different companies releases but i am not sure which would be which. Can anyone shed some light on this one?

Interesting piece. I always wondered why LJN never made a full size Snowmeow for the 6" line.

Really interesting variations you have there, Cap'n! While I'm no expert, I'm guessing that the differences are because they were probably produced in different countries. The Mini figures were produced in U.S.A, U.K, and various South American countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela.
So it is most likely that these two were produced in different countries. As to which was produced where, I think the best person to answer that would be our friend and toy expert "thunderianroyalguard". :)
I feel very envious that you have two while I've been struggling for years to get even one! LOL! :D

Nice catch Cap'n! I always enjoy seeing newly found variations. I have to agree with Wilycub on the potential explanation for the differences but will also differ to the experts. I will have to check on mine to see which version I have.

Same here. it seems like it would have been an obvious figure to make. I always wished they would have. Snowmeow is one of my favorite characters.

Yea, i am curious to see which figure came from which company/country. I only have the figures loose, so i have to hand it over to everyone else to see what the final verdict is. I am quite interested. I love knowing everything there is to the pieces. I am hoping Thunderianroyalguard lends his expertise in this field and we can figure this out.
haha i got lucky finding this one. I had been looking for about 2 years for an affordable one. I finally found one and wanted to use it for something else but then spotted the differences. So now i am on the look out for yet another one.

I took a look and I have the brown saddle Snowmeow. I dont really have much information on it as I purchased it loose, but the seller was in the US.

Thanks for checking, adssse. Unfortunately, my research so far isn't getting any answers. Although I now have come across another variation with the set. The boulders that came with the black saddle Snowmeow appear to be different than that of the Snowmeow with the brown saddle. The color is different. The set that came with the black saddled Snowmeow appear more tan and less painted as a whole. I only have them loose and have been going off of images i have been finding of the set MOC and images I have found from web searching. Another strange difference, that maybe someone with this MOC could clear up, is the gray mountain/boulder that also came with the black saddled Snowmeow. It is made of the same light plastic material as the boulders as well as the Snowmeow figure. Maybe the seller I had purchased it from mistakenly put it with them since it does not appear in any of the images I am finding of this MOC. But by the feel of the plastics and the coloring, which is the same as the shield and spear, I always believed went with the set. I had figured it was supposed to be the "hook mountain" part of the set. Below are some pictures of the boulders so you can see what i am talking about and the variations between the two.
The boulders that come with the Snowmeow with the dark brown saddle
(picture from toy archive.com / i confirmed this by searching for this MOC and you can see that these are the boulders that appear in most of the images that come up.

Snowmeow could've been part of the LJN "ThunderCats" line. :)
