I always wondered who takes hot showers the most or who takes warm or colder showers. My thought has always been that women take hot showers more often while men take more of a lukewarm shower. Me prsonally i take lukewarm unless its absolutely cold. So whats your preference...

Well, this is a first post for me in this particular thread. I take moderately hot showers because sometimes my muscles ache and I need to soothe them. And, like everybody else, I enjoy being clean! :D

Depends on the outside tempature for me. But every now and then I'll take a loooong hot shower for the heck of it, helps me meditate and relax. :)

I also prefer hot showers especially after the gym since it does help if you aching muscles. However I'm personally from Finland so if you first have a nice hot steaming sauna then I prefer and ICE cold shower so that the body can cool down

I take lukewarm to warm showers because I usually bathe after my husband and he uses all the hot water.

The coolish water also helps restrict blood vessels and capillaries so I don't bleed to death after shaving my legs like Hatchiman would his. Hooooooyahhh! :cheetaraveryhappy:

Its true about the sauna however if you want to jump in another 15 minutes I take a warm shower to keep the pores open. Hot showers do help after working out but in general i prefer warm showers

I used to always take hot showers. Now they're generally warm unless I'm freezing when I get up in the morning, then I make the shower hot. I only take a cold shower if I need to cool off or if I have a sunburn.

It depends on if it's summer or winter.

Always hot shower, I go to the gym 3/4 times a week and hotter the better seems to lessen the ache the next day.

The only time I have a cold shower is on holiday after getting abit sunburnt, Spain, Tunisia, turkey, the last 2 years I've enjoyed a cold shower.

Try taking a cold shower when you have a sunburn. Ive learned that it doesnt help. Last time i got a sunburn and took a cold shower it felt like fire ants underneath my skin.

Warm to hot showers do help for aches. I sometimes go one 10+ mile runs and hot showers do the trick. Im wondering how its going to work this Sunday as I will be doing the Berlin Marathon...something tells me there is nothing that will help a 26+ mile run

My first marathon BTW

Theres only one thing to do after running, that's a hot bath and stretching after in the bath, touch your toes and hold it.

I used to compete in judo and wrestling for 15 years, after a tournament I would stretch for 20 minutes in a hot bath, it really worked.
Also protein powder and massage repairs muscles. Good luck!

I shower in the hottest possible temp of water where I can stand it. I deal with hot water all day so it's gonna be hot. I have a high threshold for hot water considering I deal with restaurants. I shower till the water runs cold. When you work as hard as I do, you need every degree you can get to relax your muscles.

Hot, and I mean I turned up the thermostat on my boiler to get it where I wanted it.
I worked in Law Enforcement for years, everything from shaking doorknobs and Protection to Department of Corrections. And trust me, after dealing with some of the people I've encountered, you never feel clean enough unless you've been par-boiled.
