Both of these WERE available online at various stores, MOST of which say SOLD OUT now! Anyone seen these at costume shops? I have been checking Spirit, Halloween City and Halloween Express in addition to other local shops too (like Costume Holiday House).

Spirit in-store clerks believe only the COSTUMES made it to retail (which i have not seen yet either, except online), but the accessories were discontinued.

Anyone have input on these AWESOME collectibles?

I was also looking all around for this last week, and found nothing. I went to Spirit Halloween, Halloween Express, Walmart, and Target. They had nothing for "Thundercats", so I went with Amazon and ordered one Sword of Omens. It should be at my house by the end of this week, and once it is here...I'll take some pictures.

If you want to know which place I ordered from on Amazon, I can let you know if you want to order one as well.

Well, the sword arrived today...even though it said October 15th - October 18th. Go figure.

I am going to shrink down the images, and then post links to them in a few minutes...but in the meantime I have a few questions for those of you who do custom work on figures.

What would I need to use to remove the paint from this sword? It has a crappy paint job (as you will see), so I wanted to paint it myself. Also, what type of paint is good for plastic like this. Finally, I have read on forums (forget if it was from here or from somewhere else) that some people say that a white blade is better? So what type of color scheme should the sword have for a more professional look to the original Sword of Omens?

I only have the new version of the Sword of Omens to compare against this Halloween Costume accessory, so you will see that in a few pictures. I don't own the original Sword from the 80's, or I would have used that as well.

Also, the Halloween Sword is 25 and 1/2 Inches. The new version of the Sword of Omens is about 23 Inches in length.

I guess the sword isn't too bad bearing in mind it is a costume accessory.

Thanks for posting all those pics! :)

Whats this made out of, hard plastic, soft plastic, foam, dense foam?

I am going back and forth on this....wondering if I should add it to my wide array of Sword of Omens collection.

The sword is hard plastic, much harder then the old sword or the current sword by bandai
#6
is it just me or does it look like the blade has a significant tilt to it?

blackiecats: No problem. I was surprised that no one else put pictures up...but then again, maybe this item isn't for everyone.

elkkthunder: This is correct. It feels sturdy enough to hit someone without fear of breakage. lol The sword is very lightweight though.

Ideal: It is slightly bent to one side. Maybe they wanted to reproduce how the 80's sword had a certain bend to them as well. ;)
