Great episodes. I really enjoyed the interactions between Batman and Superman and Joker and Lex Luthor. These episodes really built their characters and where the foundation to the Justice League series. If only the Zack Snyder movie could have been as well done.

Glad you enjoyed these episodes, Mark! :) There are so many great elements in these that really impressed me. To mention a few:
* The way Batman and Superman both learn each other's identities. I like how Bats isn't even in the least bit intimidated by Superman and how it takes a while for them to really trust each other and work together.
* The dangers of Kryptonite to humans. It has a devastating effect on Superman as well all know, but here we see that the radiation that it emits is dangerous for humans in the long term as well.
* The Bruce, Clark, Lois love triangle
* The fight between Harley Quinn and Mercy
* The uneasy alliance between Joker and Luthor
* Pretty much every scene of the Joker! I really loved his character. Still can't believe that it is Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) providing his voice. He is evil and yet everything he says is incredibly funny. The best line for me is just after Superman comes crashing into LexCorp, the Joker says to him: "More powerful than a locomotive..... and just about as subtle!" LOL! :biggrin

The Joker is one of the best written villains in any cartoon series. The character is so intense and can switch instantly from being hilarious and comical in look, sound and action to being menacing and terrifying. In 90's cartoons in my opinion two of the best villains were The Joker from Batman TAS and Magneto from X-Men. Joker's actions were all for his own gains and personal enjoyment whilst Magneto was the polar opposite believing himself to be the true hero and doing what he thought was right for the unjustified way the mutants were being treated.

I watched this three-parter yesterday, and it took me a while to warm to it but yes, it was well done. I suppose because I'm not that fussed about either Superman or Batman, the two teaming up isn't anything special for me. But like I say, it was done very well.
I'm pretty much in agreement with Wilycub about the bits I liked.
The love triangle with Lois - "she likes Bruce Wayne and Superman, shame we can't mix and match."
The discovery of each other's identities, of course Supie (!) could use his X-ray vision to see Bruce Wayne under the mask, while Batman's little bat-bug was a very effective tool.
The point about Kryptonite being dangerous to humans in the long-term too was also interesting. In sufficiently large doses, but still, this is something that I don't think has ever been suggested before.
The fights between Mercy and Harley Quinn are comedy gold.
The alliance between Lex and Joker also brought an amused smile to my face, as neither fully trusts the other - as is also the case between the two heroes, so there's a nice bit of symmetry going on there.
Spot-on with Joker - he can be comically insane one minute, and devastatingly effective the next. Sometimes both at once. "Oh I know! I forgot the acid!"
Agreed with Mark about Magneto, slightly off-topic, but I always remembered when I watched X-Men in the 1990s, I was always struck at the fact that the two opposing leaders were such close personal friends, and have a high degree of respect for each other. Like we were saying about Captain Nemo, Magneto is not an evil man, he believes in what he's doing. But that's a topic for another discussion (and I'm sure we will go through X-Men on here eventually!).
Overall, I guess this story is what you'd expect, and very good too. Whether I'll delve any deeper into this show, I don't know, but I have for the most part enjoyed the episodes I've seen.
Now we need to think of what to watch next!
