That is interesting! Usually in the olden days, it was kinda norm to have "white" characters and creatures be the good guys and "black" ones be the bad guys. I'm not referring to skin color, just outfit. Like the ninjas in Rambo. Also there has been Black Mamba, Black Manta, Black Adam. And then there's White Witch, White Tiger. But like you said there are also occasions when this was reversed.

Funnily enough, in old fairy tales, the good female characters (like princesses) always had blonde hair while the vamps had black hair. :)

Now that you mention it there was a TV ad a few years ago for some bathroom cleaning product showing a fairy tale scene with a miserable girl with black hair cleaning the bathroom and then she transformed into a happy princess with blonde hair. There was some uproar about how it wasn't fair to girls with dark hair so they changed the advert.

There's also the famous detail in westerns about giving the good guys white hats and the bad guys black hats so that people watching in black & white would know who to cheer and who to boo.

I didn't know that. Very interesting. Next time I watch a Western I'll make sure I notice the hat colors. :)
