Possible merge of the ThunderCats-HO wiki into ThunderCats.org

Hey guys,

Wanted to give you a heads up about some discussions that I have underway with Jeff, who alongside Wilycub and another admin who goes by MissTique, run thundercats-ho.wikia.com

As I'm sure Joe and Phillip can tell you, it takes far too long for me to work on filling in the pages to support their awesome artwork for the 2011 Encyclopedia. There is so much info to still go up on this section of the site, and many other areas and right now we don't have the manpower to get it all done.

And so I was talking to Wilycub and he had said he thinks the wiki team would be able to be involved with our efforts. So Wilycub put me in touch with Jeff and we're busy exploring the idea of merging the wiki into ThunderCats.org

This could take a number of possible final formats but what I think would work well, is to have the two admins join the TC.org team and offer for them to become managers of sections that are currently unassigned, and to help with other areas that still need a lot of heavy lifting.

So for example, Jeff is a comics enthusiast and he could take over the comics pages for us, fill in the missing issues and elevate this section for us. Both Jeff and MissTique could help with the 2011 Encyclopedia so we can have pages ready to go as soon as artwork is ready.

I think there is also a wealth of info that the wiki team have on the 80s property that could be added to existing pages to further enrich them.

I think this could be a good boost to the team and would help move the site ahead further and faster. At some point, if we move ahead we'd see the wiki close down and our site would be a combination of the two.

I wouldn't want to make an official decision without talking to you guys first.

Do you have questions, concerns about this idea?

What would you like to figure out before we go further?

Let me know so we can make a more informed decision together.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi,
I think this is a really great idea since our team. along with those currently running the Thundercats wiki, could really improve and add to the existing content. On my end, I can work to translate the content into Spanish (and possibly Portuguese further down the road). Right now, there is a Thundercats wiki in Spanish, but there is not much information on anything / anyone other than the main cast. It's likely that a project like this would boost interest in the show within the Spanish-speaking community.

Seeings as that nobody had any questions or concerns I've welcomed Jeff and Misstique to the team and will go ahead with the normal announcements.

Cheers,
Mark
