So........my 8 Back Panthro has just arrived, its in about C6so not in the best shape. It has got what seems to be a few scissor cuts in the card and the usual creases but the bubble and figure are in great shape.

I bought him MOC as i planned on opening him, its really hard to find a good condition Panthro loose on ebay but now its arrived I'm having second thoughts.

Any thoughts???

I think it would be a very cool experience for nostalgia to open a ThunderCats toy from MOC. If you're okay with losing much of its value then I say go for it.

It'd be a cool clip to share with the world, if you do it, you should film it and give us the link!

Firstly, congrats on acquiring an 8-back MOC Panthro!

As for your question, it really is a matter of personal choice. If you have no intention of ever re-selling the item, and you want a loose complete Panthro in pristine condition, then go ahead and open it. :)

But even a damaged MOC is more valuable than an immaculate loose figure. So if think that you might want to sell it in the future, you shouldn't open it. :(

I second what Grizzlor said. If you do decide to open it, it would be really cool to record the process (with videos and photos) and share them here on the forums. Good luck! :)

That is a tough decision. The only problem is if you open it all you can really do is display it on a shelf and not play with it because if you play with it and it gets any ware/play damage the value will decrease greatly.
Having said that if you never had one or had one and it was a cherished piece and you wanted to have one again and enjoy opening it for the first time I can understand you opening it.
I did that with a Bravestarr as I always wanted one and could never get one when I was younger....of course I got two and still have one mint sealed.
Be careful though as I got some Ghostbusters and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons figures and as soon as I opened them due to whatever way they were stored the quality of the plastic and accessories seemed to deteriorate over time and were quite sticky. I just thought I would mention this as LJN who made Thundercats also made Dungeons & Dragons, so be careful in case they used the same plastic.

I hadn't looked at pics of the toys in forever. Great looking figure!
