Doing a piece you aren't happy with, that doesn't turn out right can be very useful as it lets you see and learn what to improve on next time. You have to be your own critic.
What is it that you hate about the piece?
What software did you use for this image?

I used GIMP
as for what I hate? Mumm-ra's stupid cape for one. it's so freakin' hard to get right and the shading on it just looks wrong. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do the shading right on that thing. If his stupid cape wasn't ATTACHED to his body I would have removed it completely Also raven's face looks wrong. I couldn't get it to come out right no matter how many times I redrew it. Maybe I should have made her wearing her hood up.
The only thing I am actually satisfied with is how mumm-ra's head and face came out. I just wish his ever-living form wasn't so hard to draw.

If I was drawing this I would draw Mumm-Ra's cape as though it was attached to his headdress going up in a point with the headdress covering it.
In fact I would maybe flip the image and have it showing Raven's back.
I only have experience using photoshop years ago.
The only real advice I could say about the shading the cloak would be to know where your light source is coming from and add some more shadow areas to it.
Did you scan a drawing or use a tablet/mouse to draw it?

I used a tablet to do it. our scanner is not compatible with my dad's laptop. it's too old for it. Maybe I should have made her the one in front and him the one facing her. It might have made the image better.

I would like to try doing some digital art again. I could also do with learning how to edit videos as I have no idea where to start.
Raven's pose is quite good and I like the shape of her hood. Her pose is dynamic compared to Mumm-Ra's. I am not so sure about the shape/proportion and position of Mumm-Ra's arm.
I am not too familiar with Raven but I would love to try drawing this sometime.
I don't really like critiquing anyone else's work or giving advice in case it's taken the wrong way but one thing I find helpful is doing small rough sketches to decide and work out how I want the image to look before I start the actual piece.

hey you're critique is very helpful. I know his arm looked weird. Raven is from the series Teen Titans. I will probably choose a different position the next time I wanna draw these two together maybe one where Mumm-Ra isn't in the foreground, doesn't help mumm-ra's cape hides most of his body. I had to erase and redraw the poses a few times but it still looks wonky. >_< I'll do better next time, that's for sure.

I was doing a Thundercats painting last year based on a scene from one of my favourite episodes but it did not go at all right so I scrapped it, but I do plan on painting it sometime soon. Visually in my case it is the opposite. I was trying to make the piece a bit more interesting by showing more of Lion-O. But the only for the scene to really work is to have Lion-O's back showing with hardly any of his face being seen.
