Ok so this is a separate thread for the "other" big toy from the vintage line, namely Mumm-Ra's tomb. Never had it as a kid, always wanted it. If Super7 shouldn't make it, I'll get it of course. I have Joe Amaro's fabulous sarcophagus to house my GITD Mumm-Ra.

So, like the Cats Lair, I'd be happy too with this playset to be replicated, and classicized... if that's a word even. It can be upgraded and the Ancient Spirits of Evil made more like the cartoon. To this I would love to add: the other two, the well of souls, perhaps the statue where Ma-Mutt came from, and even the Fatatah Cheetah statue from Dimension Doom. Also the slab that he had Cheetara on in the Pumm-Ra episode.

The back could be interpreted in many ways. I would still like that rotating gimmick. Perhaps incorporate some of the features of the Mumm-Rut (or whatever that flying pyramid was called that he travelled to New Thundera to).

Price wise this could easily be $450 too. Perhaps a good start? Then again, maybe this could be released as individual sets and accessories throughout the waves? Build a playset type of thing?

This is how the LJN toy scales with Mumm-Ra's Mattel version courtesy of TheFwoosh again.

Honestly what I'd really want is the Black pyramid with the four obelisks that opens up to show his looking pool, the four spirit statues, and his sarcophagus. That pyramid is something I have always wanted much more than Cat's Lair. Very unrealistic I realize, but this is the time to dream big.

The prices on the LJN tomb are so high, if S7 made one, it'd probably be a sigh of relief for fans. I've got six months invested in customizing one that was in rough shape, that I'm sure won't compare to what S7 would release. I'd love to see S7 tackle it, but it's gonna hurt my pride! (wait, is that a thundercats pun?)

That custom Mumm-Ra's Tomb Fortress playset really gives off that dark and mysterious vibe that represents Mumm-Ra's environment. :)

I'm flattered you asked, but sadly it's got a ways to go. I did a complete tear down on it, molding over the masonry bricks, sculpting an interior to the crypt, removing the "hooks" on the ASoE and patching and sanding, same with any mold lines or gaps - filling and sanding, then building the pillars, a base and pedestals.
So theres's STUFF, but it's in various stages of not looking like anything. Your request has gotten me back on it, sculpting the sarcophagus and tying up lose ends so I can start painting! The best part! I do look forward to showing you guys though!

Looks sharp! I love adding LEDs to dio stuff, it really elevates it in my opinion. That blue light really fits too, wish I'd had thought of that.
Are the ASoE black or a dark gray?

In the toon they’re made of stone or marble. Can’t tell as I’ve seen them as both.

No, sorry, I mean on your custom tomb playset - it's hard to tell from the photos. I've been flip flopping on how to address mine.

Was hoping to post some pics of my custom tomb, but I can't figure how to post them here. Anyone know how to help a geriatric milennial?

If you have them on Twitter, copy their link and post that on here by inserting an image. It will ask for a link. If you have it on other platforms, try and find the image url. Otherwise I hear you can upload it to photobucket and link it from there.

Thanks Sebastiaan, much obliged.

Here's my progress. I'm about 70% done. Very happy with how the skull/crypt is coming out, going to start again from scratch on the base and pedestals for the ASoE. Decided to go with a greywacke look. Cheers and Happy New Year.
