I watched a little bit of BTTF 2 again yesterday as it was on TV. One thing I noticed that I never paid much attention to before was the cost of repairing and cleaning the young Biff's car in 1955. The mechanic tells him the bill comes to $300. I was just thinking, isn't that way too much money in 1955? Most of the stuff in America back then costed less than a dollar. So for the repair charges to be $300 seems a bit steep to me. And it also seems odd for Biff, a high school student not from a rich family, to carry around that much money.

What are your thoughts?

I don't know. One thing I did notice with it was that it's the only one to really have a "proper opening titles sequence" - both 1 and 3 just have the credits flashing over slowly under the background noise/music. And something I noticed with part 3 but forgot to mention there - of course it's well-known that ZZ Top appeared as musicians at the party in 1885, but I never noticed until this time that they were actually playing an acoustic instrumental version of Doubleback!

Watched BTTF II for the first time recently, on Blu-ray. Excellent print, and great movie - both funny & clever. For some reasons, I don't even remember when it came out theatrically back in November '89.

I liked how it started immediately after BTTF I ended - in fact, they even re-shot the ending scene from BTTF I in Marty McFly's driveway - from slightly different angles.

Also liked:

-The effects re: the flying cars were very impressive, especially given that this film is almost 30 years old. That being said, it was funny that they depicted the future of 2015 as having flying cards back in '89 - it's now 2019, and flying cars will probably never happen in our lifetime - if ever - LOL.

- Marty McFly's futuristic tennis shoes, that laced themselves - LOL.

-Now that I'm watching this almost 30 years after it was first released, the nostalgic "diner" that featured a lot of '80's music & memorabilia is interesting, given that I started seeing stores selling '80's memorabilia opening up here & there since the 200X's. So, this scene was very prophetic - especially given that it's in a film from '89 -before the '80's even ended.

-It was hilarious how MJF played several roles in this film, including his own daughter?! in the future - LOL. Great make-up/prosthetics/wigs here.

-They almost certainly filmed BTTF II & III back to back, given that II came out in November '89, and III came out in May 1990 - only 6 months later.

In closing, I will probably need to watch BTTF II again, given that the time-travel/alternate reality story-line(s) was even more convoluted than in I.

On to BTTF III.

Nike actually did make limited editions of those self-lacing shoes a few years ago. :)

A company also released a replica of Marty's baseball cap.
