Missed out on Wave 1 and Prices have skyrocketed

I am throwing this out there in hopes someone at Super 7 sees this. So I missed out on Wave 1 (purchased 2-4). I knew the figures were available on BBTS and other places, but looks like I waited too long and now they are selling for $100-$150. Obviously there is a demand there for these Wave 1 figures, so any chance we get another production run? I can't justify spending that kind of money on a single figure but it would be just wrong not to have Lion-O and Panthro.

What do the Mattel figures go for? That might be an option.

It's definitely possible S7 will see the demand and do another run but it won't be a priority, the factory will certainly be an issue at this point too. They switched factories, so what does that mean if they want to go back and do these figures again? I'm not sure but it's definitely more complicated.

I haven't decided yet what to do with mine, I might sell my Mattel versions at a later date and if I did I'd be happy to sell them for nothing more than what I paid. But I want to have all of the redo's of the Mattel figures in hand first, including the kittens. I'm so particular, ugh.

FYI Mumm-Ra is in stock for retail at BBTS.

Yes! I was able to pick up Mumm-Ra, so that was good.
I guess I will hang tight and see what happens with Wave 1. I really want those extra accessories that they come with.

Iirc, Super7 doesn't have a track record of re-production of Ultimates figures. :unsure

That's true, which is why I was surprised to see those wave 1 re-issues of TMNT Ultimates. I know they're variants but there isn't much difference. I think they've made them slightly different so that as well as getting buyers who want that line but for whatever reason missed out on the initial wave, they might also be able to get buyers who already own the initial wave but like to buy variants as well. With Thundercats, I don't know if they would do the same thing because Mattel already made those wave 1 figures so technically, it's already had 2 runs with Super7's Ultimates being the re-issues. Saying that, it wouldn't surprise me if we eventually saw a red Lion-O. Not sure if I would be in for that but I do like that episode. I got Bandai's red version as it was fun to go alongside the 8 inch Classics Lion-O, seeing as how we didn't get many characters. I ended up with every version of Lion-O that Bandai ever made, simply because I couldn't get enough Thundercats at the time and they weren't giving us enough. It still feels a bit like that now with all the delays. There could still be other opportunities to get Lion-O. With him being the main character, he's likely to get re-released in more ways than one. They could end up doing a version of him that came with a cloak and crown from when he got anointed. If that happened, it would be the perfect opportunity for someone to get Lion-O if they didn't already have him. It might be annoying for some but it wouldn't really bother me. It would probably be much further down the line if it happened or maybe an exclusive, in which case, it would probably be sooner. Some people who already have Lion-O would probably buy it too. I'm not sure that I would because I have so many Lion-Os now and we're actually getting a decent cast of characters this time around, according to the announcements anyway. I guess if I had to come up with some novel ideas for re-releasing Jackalman and Panthro, I'd go with the idea of doing Jackalman in LJN colours or releasing him wearing those silly boots that he wore in 'Jackalman's Rebellion' as part of a 3-pack with Molemaster and Driller, who he teamed up with. For Panthro, maybe a 2-pack with Hammerhand, based off his original design and say that it's the Evil Panthro clone from 'Spitting Image' who's body was inhabited by the spirit of Hammerhand. Panthro could have a more mean-looking headsculpt. When Hammerhand is released as a single figure, he may end up being based off his second design which we saw when he was teaming with Cruncher, Ram-Bam and Top-Spinner.

Sorry to hear that but maybe you can bite the bullet at least this time only since it is only wave 1 you missed. Prices could be much worse if you dont act now(?). Scratch that itch now so you can enjoy the coming waves. Super7 might have Lion-O and Panthro variants in the future but you won't get the accessories you wanted, it will likely include different accessories if that happens.

So I was able to pick up Mumm-Ra from BBTS and just got Jackalman on Mercari. I paid $69 for Jackleman, so not too bad.

I also saw that Super 7 will be re-releasing Lion-O and Panthro so I think I got Wave 1 all set!

That's good news. I didn't actually see that. I'm curious about where you heard it. It will be good for people who want those characters and don't have them yet. I think it's to help the Thundertank sales. People will only want the tank if they have Lion-O and Panthro.

Great news for you and many more. 2nd runs means demand is good enough for this to keep going for awhile too. What a great time to be a fan!
