Here is another confirmed Lion-O variant. On the right in the images is the maroon version next to the red hair for comparison. I first posted this in www.action-figures.ca and Manny helped me confirm this. It was released on the 8-back with "free energizer battery" offer like the regular orange hair was. This variant also has a more yellow tone torso rather than orange.
It's not the greatest quality images but the differance is totally visible when seen live.

Funny also how Mummra was released with darker accesories and body color on the Energizer offer. It is official too that 8 back Lion O's (no energizer offer) also came in the red haired and orange haired versions as well.

I've been studying:mischievous: the marron hair and of all the moc's I've seen compared to the regular red, the accessories doesn't seem to be maroon like the hair. They look red compared to the hair and when I compare the maroon hair accessories to the red they look the same. Am I colour blind or is it simply that it's only the hair that is different?

No Centurn you arent blind I have a heck of a time trying to tell the maroon haired liono from the red one. I have both sets of loose acc and can show the difference with them so you can see there is a difference (I just need the liono now). I'll get pics up later

Hopefully these new pictures will show a little bit better the difference in these two. The pictures were taken with almost with the same angle and lighting so here they are...

Red Sword

Red Claw

As you all can see the one on the left is a brighter red while the ones on the right are more of a darker red and leaning more towards a maroon color

Heres pics of loose swords, it turns out I dont have maroon gloves just red and orange you should be able to see the difference. Hope this helps

I think on the latest pics a definite difference can be seen. The gloves also have the same shade of red as tthe right one

Nice pics guys! So now I have to get the maroon accessories to my maroon hair Lion-O. I got it with the red's. Crap!
The light-up ring was always red though, right? Even with the orange Lion-O.

The light up ring to my knowledge has always been red so at least you wont have to worry about that one

That's very interesting. A picture would really help. As far as I know, the limbs were never painted. They always were made of plastic which was the color of Lion-O's skin (light orange/yellow). The boots and the forearms were then painted on.

Similarly, the torso for the figure was always made of light blue plastic and the skin around the neck and shoulder area was painted on, which is why with age some Lion-Os torso's appear greenish. :)

For some reason I never mad that correlation. Thanks for pointing that out!

I hope you can see it in this picture guys!the one on the right is the painted legs and arms!you can see the over spray of white on to the leg (right leg as we look at them)I'm wondering if it was a factory problem with the legs and arms plastic,as I've scratched small areas in the arm and leg joints and the plastic is a very dull skin colour, out of my 17 lion-o's this is the only one like it...
