Just got this bad boy with a snarf and I was wondering how much he's worth (see if I over/under paid) Also should I get him graded?

what about graded and verified value? Also I got an extra prototype liono head with it. Whats the value on just that? And would anybody be interested in trading me for a few of the more rare figures for the head (only offering the extra head for trade not the full figure)

That's a Beauty! Very Nice addition! I wouldn't grade it either, get it a nice acrylic case for display instead

$1000 seems to be high to me. Remember it is an unpainted first shot. With that being said it is complete I think more $700 range just cause it is complete with sword and glove and snarf (just liono I think would fetch $550-$600). But hey what do I know I haven't actively collected in a long time so maybe I am out of the ball park.
It is a really nice looking piece though. Good score

Excellent prototype! It would be very good to launch a reissue of these figures for the 30th Anniversary of Thundercats.

Well that is true, many fans pray for something like this to happen. but sinct the new Show didn't pull it off i wouldn't be surpised if the toy companies decide not to get involved with the franchise anymore:lionomad:

Honestly, I hope they don't reissue the original line. I mean everything that has been reissued cheapens the nostalgia factor and pollutes the charm of what once was. I know it can be difficult to get some of the vintage items but that's what makes it that much more appealing. That excitement when you finally do own that one piece and can add it to your cherished collection. The fact that it's vintage, meaning this item was somewhere waiting for you way back when you were still sucking your thumb, makes the experience that much more sentimental and personal. Either way, I don't think any company will be rushing to claim Thundercats again but hey, we still have the classic original and the last instsllment. That at least is some comfort to this collector :)

I have to agree to a certain extent. I would enjoy a reissued line, but I would really like a new Classics line that is modeled after the old series with new molds.

Awesome find!!! I'm always amazed by members of this board who find these incredible pieces! Frankly, I do see much point in having him graded since he's already one of a kind but that's just me.
Also, I have a bunch of rare tcats both loose and MOC to trade for that prototype head if it's still available! (that only sounded moderately creepy right?)
PM me if it is still available or if you have any interest in selling the testshot as well:thumbsup: (you should sell it to me- *jedi hand wave*)

Nice piece - When it comes to grading these test shots (if this is a hardcopy, AFA will not grade it), it is wise to send AS MUCH information as you can as to where it came from, because before its graded and encased, it must be authenticated. If everything checks out, and its encased, i believe you will see 900. as it is right now, 400-600, remember this is a test shot (factory produced) not a hardcopy (hand cast and painted)...but what do i know...lol
