I'm not happy with such a long post blantantly advertising an online retailer in that way, when we are not getting any revenue from the sales. I do not understand the point of linking to each product like a sales brochure!

and I definately don't understand what advertising MOTUC Bow has to do with ThunderCats....?

I think we should work a new rule in, not to direct link to online toy retailers product pages via the forum. Such stores will never affiliate with us if we are sending traffic their way for free!

What does everyone else think? or am I overreacting? :)

Chris here...

Personally I'd rather avoid introducing a rule of this nature, to me it seems very He-Man.Org-like and it's the sort of heavy-handedness I'd prefer to avoid. :) This is with no offence directed at you, Neil, as I understand completely what you're saying and to an extent I agree, but at the same time I think some fans will share links on the forums about where the new figures are available to buy / pre-order, etc., because they want to try and be helpful and share info with other fans... :)

Now, if someone from Big Bad Toy Store (or wherever) signed up to our forums specifically to advertise what they had for sale, and wasn't offering us anything in return, then I definitely think it would be something to look at again. But for the minute I think it would be a mistake to introduce a rule like this - however, as ever I'm interested in what the rest of the team think! :)

Take care... :)
