Is this a reaction to the Rise Of The TMNT show?

Is the newly announced ThunderCats Roar an attempt to copy/compete with The Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? In other words Cartoon Network VS Nickelodeon?

Rise of the TMNT looks almost as bad as ThunderCats Roar. If they compete in making the worst possible reboot, that's beyond me. Because practically, that's what they're doing. At least by the looks of it.

I've heard about Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but I doubt that the upcoming ThunderCats Roar is a response to the former.

Not really. TMNT ROFTTMNT was announced quite a while back and isn't sticking to close to the origin story and are trying a few new things with the characters, their personalities, look and weapons etc.
