Icon Heroes Cats Lair diorama - possible exclusive for this site... :)

Hi guys,

I've just been speaking to Pat from Icon Heroes and have told him how much stuff we're cranking out on our YouTube channel lately. They unveiled an unpainted prototype of a Cats Lair diorama at SDCC and are currently awaiting the final painted version! :)

I asked him whether there would be any possibility of us showcasing the diorama on our YouTube channel as an exclusive, and he said that yes, they can definitely make this happen! :)

What would be the best way of making this work? I have an HD video camera and can easily shoot some footage myself, however, I find myself wondering whether there's anyone else on the team (or Jason) who would be better suited for this task? :)

I find myself wondering if Pat jumped at this chance because he was disappointed with the crap job MannyF made of doing a video exclusive walkthrough of their Mumm-Ra with Ma-Mutt statue?! :p

Anyway, LMK your thoughts guys! :)

So are you saying they will send a review sample of it out? The actual product itself??? I know Jason will be up for it, as he'll likely do a full review of it ;) It's your call.

I guess it also depends if they are happy to ship it to the UK too! They might be put off by this...

I'd need to clarify it with them, but my interpretation is that they're talking about sending us an actual product sample - Pat had indicated to me before that they'd like to work with us in this way! :)

For myself I'd rather Jason did the review - he'll do a much more professional job than me and having him do it would get the video more hits. Plus, then Icon Heroes would be sending to a US address. Perhaps you could ask him whether hypothetically he'd be cool with doing this? :)

I'll keep you guys posted, I'm trying to keep right on top of this side of things! :)

Pat from Icon Heroes has been in touch, they have Cats Lair ready for production but haven't released any photos yet as they want to work with us for an exclusive! :thumbsup:

My first thought is that I'd like to roll this out using YouTube somehow - should I see if he'd send a sample out, and if so whether he'd send one to Jason, or would it be better for him to send one to one of us?? :)

I need some very fast feedback on this, so as to strike whilst the iron's hot - Neil, MannyC, Mark if you're about, everyone, LMK what you think! :)

UPDATE: Went ahead and asked about a sample and it seems they aren't able to, because the only one they have is still at the factory being used for production - so I've gone ahead and asked if they can send over some promo images for us to add ASAP instead. Not quite as exciting as the YouTube stuff but at least we get it as an exclusive, which can't be bad! :)

Yeah, in fact the back-and-forth I've had with them (which I BCC'ed you on) has been a bit puzzling to me - I was aware of this but thought that what they were thinking was a first look at the completed product, sending out a sample for us to video, etc... :)

However, the way Pat is now talking, all they've done is taken a few photos of their own which they can send our way before they send them anywhere else! I'm a bit disappointed! :(

Nevertheless, I suppose something is better than nothing, so if and when they send the photos I'll post them up - but yeah, nowhere near as exciting as I was thinking at first! :(

(BTW, I got your e-mail about this - I was going to reply later on this evening - whilst I was messaging you about the ThunderCats preview clips we actually had visitors which is why I had to be quick, as I kept darting in-and-out to the computer! ;) )
