ThunderCats line is dead :(

Received a refund check back in the mail today from HardHero.

RE: Refund of Deposit for Mumm-Ra AP

We are enclosing a refund check for the deposit paid on your pre-order of the Mumm-ra statue.

Due to the ongoing market conditions (with no improvement in sight) ,we have decided to cancel future production at this time. Many retailers are no longer offering collectible statues to their customers, while others have left the industry all together.

Thank you for your support and patronage over the last 14 years; we wish you and yours every success in the changing economy.

Best Regards,

Rob Potts

Real shame that we will never see panthro etc from hardhero as I loved the quality of Lion-o and tygra. Cheetara was average n they never got going after that. At least they did a Bengali but with soo much competition it must be hard as we sadly can't afford every thundercats item coming to market.

Glad you got your refund though

Thats unfortunate, it really would have been nice to see the complete team together. You can't say this wasn't expected given the time gaps between the characters. Its a shame as I thought they were the closest to the character likenesses.

To me, Cheetara, Ben-Gali, and Tygra were almost perfect. Lion-O was not up to par in my opinion, skin tone, face wrong, but when placed with the other 3 they make up for him.

I am a little sad by this announcement, but considering the lack of info in the last year, it does not surprise me.

Tygra was probably the character closest to the original representation, Lion-o did indeed have a fur but aesthetically from top to bottom was amazing and had the best pose, dynamic and accurate to the opening scene.
Cheetara and Bengali were both great but weren't as unique as the other two.
Overall Paul Bennett did a fantastic even though the end was sudden and didn't make it with the whole line.

Too bad Mumm-ra in the mummified version wasn't finally produced. He might have been the best HH Thundercats, a very promising statue.I remember pics from the 2010 comiccon and he was truly awesome

I've heard that the ThunderCats franchise was getting a revival. Hard Hero was among many companies to acquire the license from Warner Bros. I thought their line of ThunderCats statues would last a lifetime, but it wasn't meant to be. It hurts, but the franchise will last for eternity.:liono
