Gremlins in WordPress?

Hi gang,

I just logged into the WordPress version of the site tonight to find that several of my pages had been deleted and moved into the "trash" folder! :(

What alerted me to it was that one of the pages that was deleted was the main "Animated Series" index page, which meant that "Animated Series" as a section was actually missing from the entire site's navigation bar! :(

I went into the "trash" folder and found about 7 or 8 pages had just been deleted - luckily I was able to restore them or that would have been several hours of work down the crapper, and in the case of the index pages, a complete nightmare to fix! :(

One of the reasons I'm coming to dislike WordPress is because it appears to be very difficult to back-up pages, and also very easy for multiple people who are working on it who don't understand what they're doing to indiscriminately click a button and break something... :(

However, these pages were so random, I find myself wondering whether this actually happened due to some sort of WordPress software glitch rather than anyone not realising what they were doing - do we have gremlins in the system? :)

This is meant in the nicest and most friendly way imaginable, but I would really urge everyone to please BE CAREFUL if you go into any of the pages I've set up. :) Not only are there days of work in there, but I'm a very busy person and if anything did get deleted, I won't necessarily have the time to re-build them yet again. :)

Thanks guys! :)

Take care... :)

Well it's not me as I dare not touch WordPress for this exact reason. This post doesn't help my confidence in giving it a try one bit! :( I'd be scared of messing up everything.

Hey Neil, it's cool, I was exactly the same when I started playing around with it - if someone showed you what to do I know for 100% certain you could do it! :)

Maybe one of these days we'll have to hook up on Skype or MSN and I'll show you how to use it, the biggest problem is I'm always using the HTML interface on it - however, if MannyF or I set you up, for example, an LJN toy template, I'm sure you could update it to create new pages with consummate ease! :)

Take care... :)
