Google Adsense

Just an update to say the new Google Ads account is up and running. I've placed an ad from the new account on the front page.

I've made a controversial move, by placing an ad on the forum as well. It can always be removed, but I'd like to keep it up there for at least 7 days to see how it performs.....if there are major objections or if it annoys our members we can remove it.

So far the front page ad has generated us 63p over the course of 3-4 days! If we can make £1 a week from the ads, then thats £52 a year! :)

That is a bulk of the hosting covered right there, as I believe I paid around £78 for the hosting last time.....

Yep, I'm fully in favour of this idea - even though I won't deny the forums look better without the ad, nevertheless our hosting bills are only going to go up and I would very much like to see this site raising enough funds that it could actually pay for itself. :)

So yep, great job with this, Neil, and please keep us posted how its going! :)

Neil & I have just added a second Google Adsense ad to the top of the forums, hopefully this looks OK (we both think two ads actually looks better than one stuck up there on its own)! :)
