i got into walking about a year an half ago as i was getting married and wanted to be in the best shape possible plus i was going to yosmite national park on a part of my honeymoon so i knew a lot of hiking was involved it is best thing have done getting fit again . i will have a look at the DS gbs . it will be interesting to see what mattel do with the movie line when the new movie comes out .
Living in a small village in the north coast of Ireland I have lots of places to walk. I usually walk down to the sea and back which is just over 3 miles. Occasionally I will go jogging.
Getting back in shape was one of the best things I have ever done. I am now in the best shape I have ever been in.

Fantastic Four grossed $56.1 million in North America and $111.9 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $168 million, against a production budget of $120 million (estimated $200 million including marketing and distribution costs), making it the lowest grossing Fantastic Four film to date.[3][83] It received a "C–" rating from audiences surveyed by CinemaScore on a scale of A+ to F, which was referred to by Pamela McClintock of The Hollywood Reporter as "the worst grade that anyone can remember for a marquee superhero title made by a major Hollywood studio."
The movie is terrible but it still made a profit and it had a higher like to dislike ration on the youtube trailer.

Almost 27,000 like to almost 4,000 dislikes.
Ghost like/dislike ration for Ghostbusters 2016 is vastly different LOL. So it will be interesting to see how it fairs at the box office.

i've never seen F4 but wouldn't mind watching it . i think gb will smash the records as it as a worldwide fan base . when i went to new york a few years back i went to a few different places where gb was filmed . also went to the the fire station and they still have the orginal gb2 sign on the wall inside . well worth seeing if you ever go nyc .
It's AWFUL. Nowhere near as good as the 2005 movie. If you can't download it for free I would seriously advise you not to waste your money.

I can second that sentiment. LOL! :biggrin
I have a question about this new Ghostbusters movie. Since they have replaced all the 4 lead male heroes with 4 female leads and replaced the female Janine with a male (Chris Hemsworth), should we also expect that Slimer will be replaced with a female Slimette???? ;)

Who knows....but then again I don't think they ever elaborated on if Slimer was male or female but I assume male.
Speaking of Chris Hemsworth, it will be interesting to see what the next Thor movie is like as I heard that in the comics Thor is now a woman....Thor gives up the name of Thor to Angela or something like that.

In the cartoon he was always referred to as male. I guess we'll have to see what they do with him in the new movie. :)
Did you know that there is another Ghostbusters movie also in the making? I certainly didn't, until I read today that its directors quit. Here's the full article:

Didn't know about another film. Although I do know they are working on an animated Real Ghostbusters movie. Let's hope they can get the original voice cast back.:D
If Sony were so interested in making an outright comedy Ghostbusters movie, surely they should have got the right and done the older Filmation Ghost Busters with the ape. With the advancement in CGI Tracey, the evil ghosts and monsters and the crazy ghost command with the talking ghost appliances would let them get some great talents to voice them. :rolleyes:D

I'm guessing Slimer in in Ghostbusters 2016 will be a blink and you miss it cameo.
And since they've mentioned that all the living cast members of the original Ghostbusters movie will have cameos, but as different characters than their original ones, Slimer's cameo probably will also be treated the same way. Though I wonder what different character will they have a floating, green, ectoplasmic ghost play? LOL! :biggrin

Wait, there was an animated Ghostbusters cartoon before "The Real Ghostbusters"? I always thought that the latter was the first incarnation of the franchise in animated format.

Yes you see in the 70's their was live action Filmation show called "The Ghost Busters". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ghost_Busters
Then because of the success of the 1984 Ghostbusters, Filmation launched a cartoon based on their TV show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostbusters_(1986_TV_series)
When Columbia Pictures started producing the film Ghostbusters in 1984, it neglected the fact that Filmation had already produced a live-action comedy series with that same name in 1975. Columbia agreed to license the name from Filmation for $500,000 plus 1% of the profits (of which there were ostensibly none). Since Columbia did not want to license Filmation the rights to the movie Ghostbusters when they were looking to produce an animated series, Filmation produced an animated version of their live-action TV show. Columbia proceeded to name their cartoon show The Real Ghostbusters to directly distinguish it from the Filmation show.[8]
Filmation had even gone as far as to attempt to work with Columbia Pictures and had completed initial design work for a cartoon to be based on the movie. Columbia changed its mind, deciding not to work with Filmation, and the proposed deal fell through (Columbia worked with DiC instead). Filmation's Lou Scheimer later admitted "We should have asked for the animation rights for their (Columbia's) Ghostbusters as part of the settlement."[9] This prompted Filmation to create the cartoon based on its former live-action series.
I wasn't a fan of Filmation's Ghsot Busters cartoon but it did have one of the most beautiful cartoon accurate sculpted toys of the 80's. Their Ghost Buggy car is an amazing toy by industry standards at the time and the Ghost Command playset is in my opinion the best figure playset of the 80's.

Or at least, the surviving ones. As I understand it, Maurice LaMarche and Frank Welker were Egon and Ray throughout and are still alive, while Peter and Winston changed hands during the show's run; the original Peter (Lorenzo Music) is dead, as is the replacement Winston (Buster Jones), not sure about the others.

Something that annoyed me about the first two movies and by the looks of things this reboot is the type of story they are. Why did they never just make a movie about them doing some regular ghost busts in a haunted house etc. As much as I love the movies this is probably why I prefer the cartoons.
Because for a movie you need a bigger storyline that develops over the 90min to 2hrs that the film lasts. If it's just a sequence of regular ghost busts in a haunted house, it will have the feel of a video game.

True but I just meant one house, not a load of houses. With some great writing and interesting characters it could be a bit of a mash up of something like ''Bo Dunnit?'', ''Mrs Faversdhams Attic'' etc.

The first Winston (Arsenio Hall) and the second Peter are both still alive.

Well, we'd still need a fair bit of setup before they themselves set foot in the house. Say the first third establishing something wrong in the house and calling them in, and the next two thirds in the house, first busting some smaller ghosts and gradually uncovering something big.
