From wthompson - "avoid auction outings being posted"?

Hi gang,

I sent Wayne Thompson a response to the PM he sent me re: the Mod position and he seems to have taken rejection well. :)

However, he did make one suggestion to me and I'm a bit confused about what he means:

What does he mean by "auction outings"? Does he mean he wants us to prohibit people from posting up "Hey, look at this eBay auction!" :confused:

Yep, he's basically saying don't allow posting of active Ebay auctions. Not gonna happen though. It is simply not something that can be enforced on the basis alone that the seller is entitled to post a link to their item in the marketplace forum if they choose.

and at the end of the day, the only reason he wants this is so it's less likely a fellow hardcore collector will snap an item up (ahead of the complainer) At the end of the day it's just the way it is on Ebay.
