Hi guys,
I havent had the time to be an active member here and for that I appologize :) But I have been around. Lately there have been some Spam posts, with some sport related crap story with links to gaming/betting sites. I've deleted these posts/threads and I think it's time to ban the responsible "members". Now I cant seem to find a full member list and for the life of me I cant remember the usernames. HELP!

So you can find members list by clicking on the Members tab near top left of the nav and then there's a "search for members" field on the right bar after that.

But you can also moderate users when you see a spam post, you just click on their username and click on moderate, input your password again and then you can ban them permanently if they're obvious spammers from there.

The person who put those soccer spam posts up has been banned already and the posts deleted.

Cheers,
Mark

I've noticed that lately there have been a number of fake spam accounts being created which post about a movers and packers company in India. TRG has deleted some of them and I deleted and blocked one of them today. Just wanted to bring this to the attention of the team so that everyone can be on the lookout for them. :)

Hey guys, I've taken care of a few myself, and our forum spam prevention software has kept a few from being able to post. They're put in a membership approval queue when someone who has been reported by other sites as being spammers attempt to use the same e-mail address or username to register with us.

I've found the new xenforo software to be quite good at stopping spammers but over the last three weeks or so we've had to intervene when someone sneaks in. The problem is that the spammers aren't just robots, this seems to be people who actually go through the sign up process and verify their e-mail address manually. So they're harder to identify as a spammer until they actually start posting spam content. Unfortunately for the time being we'll have to manually ban them and delete their posts. If the problem gets worse I'll look into making the sign up process more stringent.

Cheers,
Mark
