I'm not sure if there's a way to fix this, but these emoji don't display correctly in the Tapatalk version of the forum.

Do they display only as text? If not, what do you see?

Thanks Zack,
I've looked into this and unfortunately tapatalk doesn't support custom emoticons. The closest thing to a workaround is to use the same smiley code and a custom search and replace function to display a default smiley instead of the ":liono" text. So you'd see a standard smiley instead of the Lion-O emoji at best. And it's quite a bit of effort even to just get that setup.
Tapatalk has also said it's unlikely that they'll support custom smileys any time soon. Bummer.
