I sold a MIB Thundertank to this guy. I worked to have the item shipped economically since he lives in Australia, which was surface shipping with tracking. He waited 3 weeks and made a paypal dispute, when the shipping time suggests 4-6. He made a claim at 5 weeks, and got a full refund from paypal at 6 weeks.
The tracking shows the item was and still is on his way to him. But he doesn't check the tracking.
On top of all of it he gave me a negative feedback to boot.
Worst ebay transaction, worst ebayer ever.

So PayPal awarded him with a full refund even though the tracking shows it is still on the way? That's messed up. So any way to stop the item from getting to him since he's already gotten his money back?

Sorry to hear about that :( Yeah I'm very uneasy with selling high price items and accepting Paypal as payment. That's the reason I always use airmail shipping tracked, so the item gets there before the buyer has chance to make a claim.
Hopefully when the items is delivered you can contact Paypal and state the item has comfirmation of delivery. Really they should do something about it then.

Yeah I called Paypal to tell them they were awarding a claim before the shipping time was completed but they said all I could do was make an appeal after the tracking says the item is delivered.
I agree Paypal really only fights for the buyer. It really does have a monopoly on online payment through ebay. Everyone uses it knowing they can just click a few buttons to get their money back.
I even scanned the shipping papers to prove it was shipped and sent them the email stating the requested shipping method, as well as linked them the postal site to track the package and see the shipping times.
But ultimately it took them 2 days to decide to send the payment back.
Paypal stinks in my book, unless you're a buyer ofcourse.

I Agree With You Paypal And Ebay Is Geting Over A lot of Good Sellers Lately! I Think They Policy Stinks Real Bad! I Sold Some Thundercats Items On Ebay And The Ebay Fees Are Just Outrageous Is There Any Other Websites Besides Ebay??

Yeah I've had this happen to me before. Guy opened a case after waiting about 4 days!!
They take the money until they mark the item as received and then they refund it to you. Pretty weird way of doing it but you should get your money back.
Can you dispute the negative feedback??

There's amazon.com..but that varies. One's actually better of buying from well established buy-sell-trade communities, ofcourse if one's available in your fandom of interest. I came to this conclusion with Pokemon items. Buying of the livejournal community is a million times better than ebay.

I couldn't agree more. I dislike the seller's aspect of Paypal. Ugh. They kept annoying the crap out of me for a YEAR after I had sent an item to the buyer and saying I never sent it. Claiming that I had t pay Ebay because they refunded the buyer. No one told you to do that.

I had the exact same thing happen to me last month. I was a day or so late shipping something so the guy opened a paypal dispute so I mailed it signature confirmation. Got the signed card back, got a letter from the USPS stating it was delivered and the guy still got the money from paypal. I in the process of filing a legal complaint against paypal as well as the seller for theft and fraud. It's ridiculous that paypal does this.
***UPDATE**
Just checked with Paypal and they are no investigating it and disputing it with the CC company. The official repsonse I got from them *(paypal) was "disputing on your behalf"
Maybe there is a glimmer of hope?
