If any of you notice I have created new forums to keep discussions in line with the new series. There will be a classics and 2011 discussion. I am in the process of moving threads to their respective forums but will need everyones help to sort through the different forums and move them to their respective places.

If you guys have any ideas for the forums please dont hesitate to post them in a new thread or even here. Thanks for your help guys

Great idea. I had a similar thought. The only additional thought I had was to give each series its own heading with Sub-Forums, for example:

(Currently)
ThunderCats Forums
...ThunderCats Movie
...2011 ThunderCats Cartoon
...Classic ThunderCats Cartoon
...2011 ThunderCats Toys
...Classic ThunderCats Toys

(Proposed)
2011 ThunderCats Forums
...'11 ThunderCats Cartoon
...'11 ThunderCats Toys

1985 ThunderCats Forums
...Classic ThunderCats Cartoon
...Classic ThunderCats Toys

That way the new fans who may only be interested in the new series will have all of those sub-forums together, and vice versa. And it would make the forums look bigger, better, and most importantly more organized.

I think it's a great idea, but only after we start to gain more messages. I think if we create even more sub-forums, the forums will be very scarce.

Plus, it'll be difficult to have to go through...at least IMO.

Very good point Manny. I was thinking long term, when the new series has kicked off and we potentially see an influx of younger fans who have never heard of ThunderCats until 2011. We could see posting in the cartoon and toys subforums of the '11 series pass the original series quickly.

One other suggestion is to make this forum more kid-friendly before the potential influx of new, young fans... Consider ways to hide the two subforms that are more adult-oriented from youngsters. When not logged in, you can see that there is a mature fan-fiction section and the great void. I don't know how you have the permissions set up, but when I registered I gained access to both without asking. I'm not against keeping those forums, I'm just thinking ahead to when (responsible) parents of kids look here to see if they want their child to be able to visit our site, and they may get the wrong idea based on those two areas.

That's all the ideas I have currently. I moved several threads about the new cartoon to its subforum. I think I made it to page 5, around June 6th (I think).

i think what he meant was to have something like a dividing bar such as the one that says ThunderCats Forums but instead it could say something like 1985 ThunderCats Forums and another dividing bar saying 2011 Thundercats Forums. They will all be visible from the main page and would not be a sub-forum like what the collector's showcase used to be

Ive been breaking my brain on how to do that and cant remember how to do it. Can you work that out Manny?

Thanks
Merged Post:
We do have registering permissions set so that no one under 13 can join but of course that can be overlooked. Originally i had set those areas to be protected but i guess someway along the line the permissions were changed

By teh way i added a pssword to the mature forums. Password is beyondsight

The New Layout is much better organized.

Good Job.

I'll try to move some threads too.

Lookin' good! I like the idea of having more distinct forums for the old vs new series. Hope you can get that sorted out ^_^

Did the changes :)

Hey Manny, I hope you don't mind that I moved the statue/staction threads back to the classic toy forums. These particular products are based on the original series, so they should be in the classic toys/collectibles forums :)

Thanks...how did you make the red bar partition...I couldnt remember how to do it since its been ages since anything like that had to be done.

I actually thought that the statues/stactions should belong in the classic section and I wholeheartedly agree on that now that i think about

Do you think we should be making a separate 2011 Thundercats Collector's Showcase for the recent Statues and Action Figures?

Doesn't that mean all Bandai Classics figures discussion should be in the 80's toys discussion too?

Yes in the sense that theyre toys based off the 80s line but no because theyre released as part of Bandai's toy line

The showcase could be tricky. Where do we envision collections to end up that are a mix of LJN and Bandai? The good news is that we have until at least July to think about that.

As for the Bandai Classics, I'm torn on that. It is based on the '85 series and belongs there, but it is being made in conjunction with the '11 series and a lot of the news and info will be intertwined, so it belongs with the rest of the '11 figure news. That means it belongs in both places and at the same time in neither. I just gave myself a headache thinking that through.

P.S. The way the '85 and '11 series are split up now is what I meant previously, sorry for the confusion.
