So guys we are all very excited that Thundercats have returned for good. More or less we are going to support the line which also means we are going to spend money for the brand new products! Thankfully, the market has been already inundated with Thundercats, whether that is Classic memorabilia or Original toys. With Hard Hero cancelling their upcoming statues the choices have been narrowed down to 4 Companies.

I suggest we make a poll, something which has been previously done but now we are much more familiar and experienced with the modern Thundercats products,to see where the fans incline towards and have decided to focus on:

Out of curiosity, i thought to add the LJN selection too.I wouldn't be surprised if some hardcore fans pick for the original though!!

Feel free to say your likes and dislikes.

Hehehe, I've gone for LJN :p

The Ban Dai lines are pretty good, but as I'm sure other members will agree, it could do with some improvements (especially considering how long Ban Dai have been making toys).

I think the Mezco line is one of the better ones, based on the Lion-O and upcoming Panthro moulds. But I have to say I'm not that keen on the Icon Heroes or Pop Culture Shock statues - just personal preference more than anything really.

I voted LJN mainly for reasons of nostalgia! I don't get them same feeling on the new releases that I do when I opened Panthro back in the 80's. But that may just be due to me being 4 years old at the time, everything is more vivid from that age :liono

i absolutely understand your enthusiasm for the LJN line, i think many adult fans will still collect and value like rare treasures the old Thundercats.

Mezco is still a mystery, I wasn't so thrilled with Lion-O, he looked so anime too me, especially his face.Panthro however looks 100% faithful to the cartoon, very stylish and his whole appearance is great.
About Mumm-Ra, i still can''t understand, why three different companies have decided to recreate exactly the same pose and image for the Ever-living wizard, we were all eagerly waiting for HH's mummified version but the company unexpectedly shut down. I already own the PCS's Mumm-Ra who, in my opinion, is the best out of three and i don't see a reason to acquire him from the Mezco and Icon Heroes too.

I wasn't pleased at all with Lion-O from icon Heroes, one of the worst Lion-O representations to this day. On the contrary some other unreleased staction figures like Jaga or Jackalman look pretty great. I think Icon Heroes will attract attention mainly for its Thundercats Vehicles,I wait to hear what fans who got the Cats Lair have to say.

Jerry Macalusso has been doing an amazing job for Thundercats so far, Lion-O and Mumm-Ra are exceptional statues, hands down.i am aware that many fans complain for the price and the immense size as well as the many cases of damaged or defective pieces but overall they have unparalleled quality and beauty. After 26 years i expected the best products to pay homage to a legendary show, and this is none other that Pop Culture Shock. I have them displayed and whenever i look at them i am full of awe.The price is bit steep to say the least but take into account that these PF collectibles are released one every 6-8 months.
To be honest i expected more Thundercats fans to support this line but for some reasons they pass it up.

In 2012 I think i'll try to stick with Pop Culture Shock and its PF products.Second comes the Bandai line, i was pleased with my latest purchases and even though i don't believe they can match the aesthetic quality of the original LJN Toys, i see some prospect and innovative points which make them special

I voted for both LJN and Bandai. I am slowly adding to my original LJN collection and due to budget concerns have been sticking to the 4" and classics with the Bandai line.

I see, the LJN Thundercats is a standard quality and many fans will keep on collecting them

I voted for Pop Culture Shock. I know they are a little pricey, but they are well worth it. I hope the line continues. Having all the Thundercats at this scale would be simply amazing.

I was surprised to see that the majority of hardcore Thundercats fans aren't supporting so much Pop Culture Shock's version. But instead the PF Statue collectors responded very positevely and have purchased both of them so far.

Jerry had mentioned that as long as fans like them and buy them he will keep making Thundercats. However, i don't know if the less popluar characters like Cheetara will sell equally.Unforunatelly, i've been reading on many occasions, fans who receive their Statues damaged or defected, like parts missing, poor paint appliance e.t.c Another reason the sales might drop. One thing is for sure, the QC isn't done properly.
I have spoted small flaws on my EX Lion-O which don't exist at all on my second AP EX.Lion-O. Still, this depends on how condition sensitive someone is.I have made peace with the idea that nothing is perfect, nothing, even if we are talking about expensive PF statues. Besides the overall aesthetic quality is so great, you can hardly notice the sightest imperfection. And this is what matters!!

cgdc76,i've seen your pics and i think you own an AP Lion-O as well!! That's great!

Are you also collecting any of the other companies which produse Thundercats right now?

I was loyal to Hard Hero. They had a great scale, and good price. But now that they have bit the dust, I am on the PCS wagon. While they are nearly double the HH price, the PCS statues are awesome. So massive, so detailed, so epic.

My Mumm-Ra has 2 issues with the sword, it does not light up well, and it has a crack in one of the blade edges. I rarely display it with the lights on, so I can easily overlook that. But the crack is going to bug me every time I look at it. I did contact Sideshow Collectibles to see if they have any spares, they are checking into it. But even if they don't, I will be happy with my Mumm-Ra.

After the great communication between Jerry and the fans, I feel safe saying this line has a chance of doing well.

PCS, but actually it will depend whether their statues will look like the original characters or not. Mumm-ra does, unlike Lion-O, so I'll just wait and see.

I totally agree with you aero, too bad HH backed down and we still haven't learned the exact reasons, given that the line was a success with sold out all of its products.

PCS is the next best thing even if it is costly, at least you get what you pay for.

Similar cases of small flaws like the ones you mentioned have been repeatedly reported on other forums. It's always a bummer when you spend a fortune and comes a bit damaged.

No need to worry about the sword, personally i don't like it when Mumm-ra holds it.Just try the regular hands.I prefer this represantation much more.I believe youll like it too!
Don't you think the light uip function on Mumm-ra's eyes and particulrly chest is awesome?? Much better than Lion-O's feature

Just read on sf that Cheetara is getting closer to being finished. I can't wait to see her in 1/4 scale.

And yes Lordore I too have an AP LionO  I still have him in his box though because I don't have a safe place to display him with my crazy little 3 year old running around.

I hope people support this line through at least Panthro and Tygra. Tygra was always my favorite as a kid.

I would really love to see Jaga, Slythe, Jackalman and Monkian made too!

I think the price of some of the PCS statues - although part of their collectable popularity - is also one of their downfalls as it limits the market. But hey, I still love 'em!

To be honest Lordore I'll support any company that brings out merchandise! I'm still hoping for a panini sticker book! Lol! I also have all of the LJN toys in the attic to from when I was a kid (yes, all of them! Lol) and the vehicles and playsets are still boxed. The figures aren't but hey, I was a kid and I played with them, they are still in great condition though. Now I'm building the full line of bandai toys too!

You are right, the quality is superb but the price is a question. To be honest i think PCS's Thundercats are much more appealling to Statue collecors generally rather than the Thundercast fans, even the hardcore. I don't know if the rest of the team will sell equally good.I am on the fence about buying cheetara. The good think is that these expensive Premium Format statues come out about once the year or 9 months. So you can save some money.

I am relly curious to see if the whole team will be released by Jerry Macalusso.

That is great , i really look forward to seeing your collection at the Collector's showcase! Sounds lke you have treasures stored up in the attic! I am suppoting the new line as well. I am trying to save up some oney for Icon Heroe's Lair, though i;ve only purchased Lion-O staction so far, which was a big disappointment for me. Icon Heros isn't going very well at the poll, i thought it would go better after the lair was released

I'd definetely want to see characters from the Origin Episodes, like Javan, as they made the Tygus figure. These are historic figures for the Thundercast saga!
