Funny this is not yet a topic on here, considering that we already have the tank on route, and potential other surprises.

Now I definitely want a Cats Lair. I never had the LJN one, and if it comes down to it, and they never release it, I will buy one as it goes soooooo well with this scale anyway. Just look at this photo from TheFwoosh below.

I would be very happy if they kept the design very similar. I know many would argue the tank should fit under the claw. The reality is that will never happen, it is just frankly too big. And if the tank only cost $500, then that is likely what each claw would cost! :roflmao Without the body!

Like Snake Mountain, it too will be a "hollow shell". That was many people's complaints about it, but with the LJN design it will work I bet. Obviously the interiors can be fwooshed up a bit to show a better control room. I don't think that this design would require a floor.

It also doesn't really need the handles at the back or the light in the mouth. I would like some GITD eyes though.

What will such a beast cost? With the increased prices in plastic, it may be $850 upwards. Will people buy it though? They did buy Snake Mountain! So who knows. Will I get it? YES! Of course. Who wouldn't want it. Better start saving today...

Obviously this is really the number one lair from the series, but they are all interesting and worthy of physical representation. The question will be will Super7 want to go this route, or instead produce another vehicle, perhaps this time for the villains?

I would be interested in the skycutter first. Definitely want a lair further down the road.

Probably $1200.

I'd like to see the Lair come eventually - just not right now haha. Let's get a couple more waves of figures first. Unfortunately the person who put $1200 for the price, may not be as far off as I'd like to believe!

Mattel had the lair planned for year 5. We are now in year 3, 2 if you don’t count Aug 2019’s W1. So I think we’ll see a few more years first. Likely 2023. Not next year. Late 2023 perhaps. I don’t mind the price. I really want this. Sooooo bad!

That lair backgrounds in Wave 5 are getting salivating comments on Instagram tho

I did see pictures of a large Cat's Lair with the forthcoming wave 5 ThunderCats Ultimates! figures, but I'm certain that a beast like the lair will be incredibly costly.

Am I the only one who’s thinking a BAF for larger items like the Lair might be an affordable and fun approach? What do you guys think?

Super7 doesn't do that. They will have the same factory that made Snake mountain make the lair in the same way .

Something tells me Brian has a serious soft spot for Thundercats and if this lair is actually made its going to be larger than snake mountain with the potential for the tank to be under the claw.
I agree the cost is going to be astronomical but fuxk it right boys? I see the Instagram images also have some mountains on either side of the lair leading me to believe there will be rooms and chambers hidden inside those mountains for figure play and storage.

Just remember super 7, if the thundertank fits under one claw, the feliner needs to fit under the other claw, just saying do it right or don't do it at all. Lol

I'm sure at some point Super7 will offer a playset to us be it Cats Lair or Mumm-Ra's Tomb.
Snake Mountain cost $600.00 plus $100.00 shipping.
As much as everyone may want a Cats Lair or Mumm-Ra's Tomb playset it's going to depend on cost and like Snake Mountain a goal would need to be reached for a HUGE playset like Cat's Lair to even happen.

I would definitely be alright if we only ever get a Thundertank, but at least one villain vehicle and one hero and one villain playset would really bring make the line feel much more significant and profound.

I agree and i'm sure at some point in the line Super7 will offer a playset But I highly doubt it will be in 2022 seeing how they just sold a $500.00 Thundertank. I also can honestly say that when and if Super7 offers a cat's Lair in NO WAY will it be so large as to fit the thundertank under one claw. That would end up making the playset 6 to 7 feet tall and costing well over one thousand dollars not including shipping cost.
As much as I love the Super7 Thundercats Ultimates line No way would I waste that that kind of money on a hunk of plastic that I would have no place to even store it let alone display it. Super7 only Made Snake Mountain because Mattel had already promised it to the MOTUC fanbase and Honestly I think there are more MOTU fans out there than Thundercats fans. The horsemen already had it sculpted, it for Mattel, it just had to be resized because what was originally shown was to large and too costly to make the way it was. When Mattel gave Super7 the MOTUC lic to make the figures Super7 chose to make Snake Mountain knowing it was going to sell.

I'm not even sure a proper Mumm-Ra's Tomb playset for Thundercats Ultimates wouldn't run us at least $500.00 and it would be smaller than a Cats Lair since It would require the skull with a Sarcophagus four statues and a caldron.

What I do think we might see is maybe a mutant fist pounder Vehicle in the future to go along with the Thundertank.

I would love a thunderstrike since the original toyline ended before it could be produced. It’s the star vehicle of the second season.

I could see a 32" tall by 24" wide by 12" playset being made that mimicks the LJN while having a slightly more show accurate sculpt. Probably be $700. There's a lot of complexity to having a sculpted interior that isn't just a shell.
#17
I agree with you Cobrala in that it could mimick the LJN playset, just "upgraded". That would work, and they can do lots with the interior - similar to the shell of Snake Mountain. Price point though I think may be a bit more - $850 perhaps? With the price of plastic going up, this may be a very expensive one. Personally I would hate it if Mumm-Ra's tomb got released as a set and not Cats Lair. Then again, I do believe that the way they're doing things now, that the tomb may get released as various accessories down the line. That would work fantastic. Then when we eventually get to Cats Lair, we'll have that covered.
