Anyone else have this issue?

I'm not sure if this is typical v-bulletin stuff but I'm a little alarmed by it nonetheless.

so there was this new user that signed up. I clicked on his name on the main board where it shows our latest member to see if his profiles threw any red flags. At that time clicking that link sent me right to his userprofile. At first, there was nothing concrete to go on, so I did nothing.

Then, I noticed he was logged into the board, so I clicked the same newest member link to see if he maybe updated his profile and I would know more about him. Well that time I got some message that said I didn't have permission to view?? wtf? And I was def logged in. I had to look him up via the mod panel, and sure enough he added to his profile alright. Links to male enhancement crap - the typical spammer wares. So I banned him.

My question is why couldn't I view his profile from the front page link? Is it because he was in the act of changing it? I looked at what he was looking at, and it said he was in his user CP...so maybe that was it? I had it happen after that too. Same scenario.

Anyone else have this happen? Color me curious.

I don't look at users that way. I always look via the mod side, so if they are a spammer, I can try to throw the ban before they can post their crap.

Well I can get there via their profile too by clicking on edit user profile, if I see something spammerish. It's a quicker way for me when I first get here anyway, and don't already have the admin cp open. I just find it odd sometimes I'm blocked from looking at their profiles. Seems weird.
