Good breakdown of some of the best episodes re: B: TAS. It was a great show, and these write-ups are inspiring me to re-watch the entire series. I know there were a lot of episodes I missed when the show originally aired, due to it not always being at a time when I could watch TV. I do have the whole series on DVD, so do need to check it out at some point.
For what it's worth, the entire series is scheduled to be released to Blu-ray in 2018. I'm not sure if it will be worth the upgrade, since I'm satisfied with the DVD's. However, to HD fans this may be worth checking out:
I really liked Batman The Animated Series. Although I only ever had a couple of the action figures from it.
In the UK for the last several years only Season 1 and 2 have been available so I always held off getting them as I wanted the full series.
Thankfully the complete series of Batman The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures. So I will buy the full series soon. :D

I remember Batman: The Animated Series. It definitely enjoyed doing its own thing while respecting Batman as a franchise.

One thing I also loved was SHirley Walker's music, which was almost always terriffic.
Each episode seemed to have its own original music, which only helped to make them stand out even more. But we always had that Batman motif that would pop up whenever he did something heroic, which always gives a nice "F*** yeah" moment.
That's something I can compare to Thundercats. The music in that show was stelolar too and wheneve rthe classic T-Cats theme played or the "Save the Day" track played, it just got my young self to get energized and start cheering. The Batman heroic track, even if it was just a few notes during a quick scene, got that same reaction out of me.
