Good stuff! I can definitely see the Silverhawks and Tigersharks in the Thundercats universe! Especially in the sequels, I just don't want too many characters in the first Thundercats movie ala Spider Man 3 and the latest Ninja Turtles 2 movie!:panthro

I saw the Space Jam: A New Legacy trailer. It was pretty wild. Though primarily it's kind of a Looney Tunes flick, the fact that WB's throwing in their IP cameos screams cash grab.

Sounds promising, though one of my main concerns as a fan is voice talent. When a studio sinks a lot of money into animation, they don't have an A-list face to slap on the PR train and usually feel the need to window dress it with big names who either end up playing some cartoonish version of themselves, or they're not a patch on actual, dedicated voice actors. I'm not saying "regular" can't do this stuff well...I just live in fear of a Thundercats movie starring Johnny Depp as Snarf.

This is true. Even though it would be animated they like to cast big actors way too often instead of career VAs. Like what was the purpose to casting anyone but Ross Bagdasarian Jr. as the Chipmunks?

A bit like that recent Scoob movie where they got a load of big names involved with the project and it really didn't make any difference. They should have just used the regular cartoon series/movie voice actors.
Well, I am a huge Godzilla and Giant Monster movie fan, and I was happy with what Wingard did with Godzilla Vs. Kong. Its not the deepest movie in the world, but it looked cool and delivered exactly what it promised.
If Wingard does a Thundercats movie, at the very least, the movie will look cool and have cool moments.

I am ecstatic that a new movie is again under works but I am not confident in the choice for the director no matter his passion for the property. Just looking at his work fills me with dread, he seems to be more about flash than substance, even his interview dialogue is a bit "unrefined" for someone I'd prefer handling Thundercats. I honestly don't care whether it's CGI or live-action, as long as it has a meticulously crafted world; I am all for it. I have always been of the opinion that Thundercats can benefit heavily from Lord of the Rings framework. That is to mean giving each inhabitant of the world their unique history, having a set of operational rules of the world, and even different languages and deeply-rooted cultures existing and interacting with each other. We don't necessarily have to stick to inspirations from cartoon solely when there is potential for improvement from other sources.
And I hope to goodness Millie Brown is not in it, just can't stand her anymore, she is thoroughly annoying. I hope they go for better options that are surely out there. Anyways, I am trying to keep optimism balanced with realistic expectations, which I would keep to bear minimum to be on safe side.

Hmmm Millie Brown as Cheetara. I think she can pull it off.
Personally I am just glad a Thundercats movie is even talked about at this level nowadays.
