1 SPAMMER got through

Be on the lookout, I found a cleaver spammer. Short answers, one post looked legit until I saw it was a reordering of a previous post, the other was a bit too vauge to make sense. Both had links at the end.

If more get through, may be time to change the registration question.

Yep I've nuked that account. We have to expect one to sneak through every so often. If we start to get a dozen or so I'll change the question :)

Which is worse, a spammer or a troll? I'd go with a troll being worse. Anyhoo... :cool:

Yeah I agree. Spammer is instantly nuked whereas a troll has to break the rules 3 times to get nuked ;)

I was wondering how the anti-spamming battle is going? Is the Lair being attacked by spammers on a daily basis? i remember they had inundated the Site a while back

It is much better now. With a trivia question part of the registration process, far fewer spammers are making it through. Now if any get through, we post so that when we see they are starting to get in more frequently, we change the question and the spammers go away for a while.
